The Hardware Technical Lead will be in charge with the project execution, projects budget control, employee development, performance management, task assignment, prioritization, and utilization of the allocated team. Undertakes the guiding and coordinating day-to-day activity of the assigned engineering team.

As member of the Project Management team on a Project you would coordinate the delivery of a portfolio of project related engineering work, using the Emerson Automation Solutions global resources and standards. The Technical Lead shall fully support the overall business growth objectives by applying their skills and experience to support the Cluj management in the pursuit of new business opportunities.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will:
  • Have direct responsibility for a team of small to medium size; act as project lead for diverse projects, acquire, maintain and actively shares knowledge and experience with the engineering team and the wider organization
  • Ensure the technical execution of hardware projects and coordination of the Engineering Center team; depending on business context, the role can assume an end-customer interface.
  • Handle all hardware engineering activities on all allocated projects and proactively use methodologies, resources, and techniques for minimizing the execution cost, whilst maintaining the requisite schedule and quality standard
  • Hire and staffing engineers to meet requirements of S&OP planning in area of influence; builds diverse, and supportive environment; ensure good team spirit between team members.
  • Implement local and European initiatives aligned with company strategies, establishing frameworks, tools, and clear ownership for execution. Support project managers in schedule planning.
  • Be a focal point for all technical communication with the organizational, project leads, and the end customer, and ensures that all team members allocated, inclusive of any third parties, are provided with relevant information - details of scope, schedule, technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Make sure that all engineering activities are undertaken in accordance with the Company's quality control processes and that the relevant standard is achieved - adheres to company's and customer HSEQ standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to ensure resource availability and meet customer expectations. Support sales and proposals by understanding customer needs and providing innovative, cost-effective solutions.
  • Offer support in the development of the procurement list, including detailed specifications for any sub-contracted works and services where relevant, along with required delivery dates.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Engineering degree, relevant experience as lead engineer for DCS and/or automation projects
  • Relevant Life Science experience, running hardware system design, implementation, and factory/site acceptance test phases of projects (process automation, systems, and instrumentation)
  • Extensive experience with direct customer contact and managing expectations
  • Local language skills with proficient English (verbal and written)
  • Be open to travel according to project schedule and demand (when needed, 20-30%)

  • Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and talent to lead a technical team - with lead experience preferred, at least 2-3 projects/project areas
  • Willing to build effective teams!
  • Knowledge on Life Science customers, market, and trends
