Hiring Salary Range: $174,700.00 - $262,100.00

Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level.

Location can be flexible, but must be primarily located out of the La Crosse, Eau Claire or Madison, WI areas.

The impact you'll make in this role:

This position is responsible for the management and operation of a diverse portfolio of the organization's generating assets. Ensures assets are managed in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner. Demonstrate leadership behaviors that sets and reinforces clear expectations and influences behaviors consistent with industry best standards. Develop partnerships and support strong teamwork attributes to achieve the organization's vison and mission. Ensure compliance with safety, budgetary, environmental, operational, and regulatory requirements. Support attainment of corporate and business unit strategies, goals and objectives, and performance metrics. Serve as a strong communicator of key strategic and operational initiatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. The position will have Oversight Responsibilities for the generating assets below through the effective implementation of the remaining Job Functions:
• Flambeau Hydroelectric Station
• Weston #4
• Elk Mound Combustion Turbines
• RockGen Energy Center
• Strategic acquisition of additional generating assets.

2. Manage overall operations of each site to ensure adequate energy supply to meet demands by working with transmission and marketing teammates.

3. Analyze and recommend strategic initiatives to address long-term station needs and improvements.

4. Develop and implement strategies, plans, projects and local practices resulting in a continuous improvement process for higher levels of safety, availability and reliability on all units under direct control.

5. Develop site goals, objectives and performance expectations, annually, reporting frequently on performance against these goals and developing short and long-term action plans.

6. Ensure station performance by setting and communicating expectations consistent with station annual goals.

7. Lead in the development of maintenance processes aligned with industry best practices.

8. Direct and assist in the preparation of site annual budgets, annual work plans, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and station goals that align with top quartile performance values.

9. Responsible for forming and leading the reliability initiatives aligned to each station's specific needs.

10. Identify and communicate broad scope issues which could potentially impact the organization's values, vision, or mission.

11. Provide educational and training opportunities for direct reports to assist with their knowledge, skills and proficiency based on a keen understanding of their positions and responsibilities.

12. Develop a strategy to create the organizational capacity to meet current and future needs.

13. Facilitate the continual use and effectiveness of standard problem-solving procedures for the station. Ensure all procedures are in conformance with organization and regulatory guidelines.

14. Organize, lead and/or attend management meetings and other company functions.

15. Validation that a comprehensive safety program is in place at each station to achieve safety performance levels at or above performance targets.

16. Facilitate the full utilization of established work processes to ensure all necessary information for the efficient, effective, reliable operation of the station is accurate, timely and transparent.

17. Prepare and report, as requested, on all aspects of safety, station equipment, personnel and budgetary compliance.

18. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, permits and regulations governing generation facilities.

19. Leverage industry forums to maximize benefit and value received from company investments.

20. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field experience with a minimum of 12 years progressive experience electric power plant operations or related experience required. Minimum of 7 years leadership experience required. MBA and Professional Engineer's License preferred.

Skills:
• Diverse knowledge of operations, maintenance, design and construction of site generating facilities
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels, both internal and external
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, D365/Solver)
• Strong organizational, time, and project management skills.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, planning, problem-solving, and resolution skills
• Strong business acumen and technical skills
• High work ethic and self-initiative
• Labor relations knowledge
• Leadership skills

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand/sit; walk; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to wear hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection and breathing apparatus (35 lbs). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Other Job Characteristics: On-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Home Office Work Location can be flexible based on the various locations of the company's generating assets. Flexibility to travel between generating assets and headquarters often by automobile is necessary. It is estimated that a minimum of 50% of the employee's time will be spent at the generating asset locations.
