Education Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent.

Certification / License Required:

• Must possess a valid Texas operator's or Class C driver's license and be insurable by the district.

Experience Required:

• General knowledge of refrigeration, pipe fitting and electricity.

Personal Qualifications:

• Demonstrates the willingness to work overtime if necessary to ensure job requirements are satisfied and when emergency situations arise.
• Has the ability to communicate with personnel at all levels within the school district.
• Has the ability to communicate with vendors of air conditioning equipment and supplies.

Function

Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Foreman and the general supervision of the Administrative Officer Facility Maintenance, assists the A/C Mechanic in performing air conditioning and refrigeration repairs, cleaning units and performing preventive maintenance. Keeps all mechanical equipment in operation, assists in changing out and replacing of window units.

Maintenance Foreman

Reponsibilities:

• Assists with minor repairs on window units and refrigerators.
• Assists in changing compressors and motors on mechanical equipment.
• Assists in overhauling and renovating of HVAC equipment.
• Helps maintain heating and cooling in all buildings.
• Assists in performing preventive maintenance i.e., cleaning coils and changing filters on equipment.
• Assists in rebuilding window units and other small equipment.
• Checks to ensure the safety of students and workmen at all times.
• Must be able to operate a school vehicle in the performance of duties.
• Records proper information on work orders.
• Responsible for quality control on all work performed.
• Performs other job related duties as may be required by supervisor.
• Assume all other duties asigned to serve the needs as determined to be in the best interest of the CCISD.

Secondary DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the framing, cover and installation of roof fixtures.
• Assist in the installation, tape and texture drywalls, of sheet rock and paneling.
• Assist in the repair or modification of furniture, desks, tables and bookcases.
• Assist in the repair, replace, program or re-key entry locks, make keys.
• Assist in the repair or replace door closures, panic latches and bars.
• Assist in the repair or install, test service and maintain electrical and lighting systems, including conduit and duct systems, light and power circuits, junction boxes, switches and receptacles.
• Assist in the repair or replace electrical units for dishwashers, refrigerators, garbage disposals, stoves and other kitchen equipment.
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of heating and air conditioning systems and related equipment, including fans, blowers, thermostats, pumps and motors.
• Assist in the installation of interior and exterior wiring for new and altered facilities.
• Assist in the service or replace clock motors and micro-switches.
• Assist in applying, using brush, roller, or spray gun, paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, lacquer or other protective or decorative finishes to a variety of surfaces.
• Assist in preparing surfaces for painting.
• Assist in the refinishing of furniture.
• Assist in painting signs, door numbers, paint lines or athletic courts and parking lots.
• Assist installation or replace, floor and ceiling tiles.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or his designee.

Salary: AUX/605: $15.30 minimum/hour (individual salary calculation is based on applicable experience)
