Multiquip is looking for a highly skilled and driven Power Applications Manager to join our Product and Engineering group. This role is part of the Product & Engineering Group, focusing on product success, development, and customer experience within the mobile power generator sector. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in generator applications, including design, layout, and commissioning of temporary power systems at jobsites and facilities.
This is a hybrid position and will be based at one of our facilities, with up to 50% travel to customer sites and other company locations. The role requires both technical knowledge and hands-on application experience, ensuring that products meet customer needs while driving innovation and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Applications Expertise for Customer Projects:
- Provide technical expertise in designing and commissioning systems both offsite and at customer jobsites.
- Ensure the correct generator is selected to guarantee reliability.
- Collaborate with customer application specialists to design and commission projects.
- Gather insights from applications to identify sales opportunities and drive product improvement.
- Provide support for escalated application-related questions and issues from our call center.
2. Customize Product Estimation
- As part of our customized product request process, review customer requests and work as an internal estimator on bids and requests for proposal.
3. Generator Controller Expertise:
- Maintain a knowledge base on generator controllers to support diverse applications.
- Perform field testing of software releases and define requirements for software revisions in collaboration with customers and engineering teams.
- Ability to learn, program and troubleshoot various brand controllers used in our products.
4. Product Management Support:
- Through observations gained through application visits; work with the team to align product decisions with industry trends and customer needs.
- Identify application requirements, product limitations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend product changes based on customer feedback and application performance.
- Validate new products and product changes through collaboration with design and engineering teams.
5. Support Sales Team:
- Assist sales teams with complex technical and application discussions.
- Recommend products best suited for customer applications and define project scopes.
- Collaborate on engineering-focused discussions with consultants and engineering firms.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Works closely with Product Manager/Specialist on projects such as:
- Review product manuals and documentation.
- Provide general customer support as needed.
- Collaboratively review product issue reports to determine agreed upon courses of action and resolution.
Qualifications
- Strong technical background in generator controllers or similar systems.
- Experience in power generation products and applications.
- Experience in customer-facing roles, including technical discussions and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and literacy skills
- Able to effectively and safely performing tasks at jobsites and in production environments.
- Ability to utilize task and project management tools.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary of $100,000 - $130,000 + annual bonuses
