Job title: Aerospace Business Apprentice

Role Type: 5 year Apprenticeship

Location & Hours: Full time, site based

As an Aerospace Business Apprentice at Honeywell, in Yeovil, you will be work alongside qualified and experienced Honeywell Engineers to develop your engineering and business skills whilst undertaking parttime academic studies. You will be exposed to all engineering and manufacturing departments, which gives you the opportunity to get a flavour of our wider business units.

You will also have the exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the Honeywell Apprentice Association, where you can be part of arranging and attend fun charity and social events.

Our education partner, Yeovil College will provide you with the following BTEC courses for the apprenticeship:

• Level: 3 Business Administration

• Level: 4 Information Manager

This role is part of our Early Careers Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This apprenticeship is set up for a duration of 5 years, starting from 4th August.

Key responsibilities

This role allows you to work directly with our customers, both internally and externally, on a global scale as well as gain experience with configuration management tools & software and knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for aerospace products.

Aerospace Business Apprentice Engineers work primarily within the Configuration Management and Data Services Team (CMADs). You will focus on all aspects related to Configuration Management:

Planning (good CM Planning helps ensure that configuration management is effectively applied to each program and provides an environment for continuously monitoring and improving the CM process)

Identification Management (Ensure configuration items (parts, assemblies, products) are uniquely identified, their associated documentation is prepared per industry and program requirements and placed under the proper level of configuration control)

Release and Change Management (provides a disciplined and systematic method for placing configuration items under control and managing subsequent changes)

Configuration Audits (Ensure a product's design meets defined performance and functional requirements and verifies the consistency between an audited product and its product configuration data)

Configuration Status Accounting (Ensures accurate information about a product's configuration is captured (item identifier, revision, changes, product structure, etc.)

Key skills and qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade C/4) essential

• An interest in Business Administration and data manipulation

• Passion for aerospace and making a positive difference

• Basic MC Office skills, (know your way around an excel spreadsheet, for example)
