The Senior Contract Lead will report to the General Counsel BA Europe and will also report to the Regional General Managers for HBS Install andService for UK & Nordics.

JobResponsibilities:
  • Review customer contract terms and conditions and make necessary amendments to align them with our terms and conditions policy and market practice.
  • Participate as a key member of the negotiating team in contract discussions with customers and suppliers.
  • Negotiate, review & draft a broad range of commercial agreements, including supply, sales, marketing, distributor & sales agent agreements, licensing & procurement agreements.
  • Coordinate with other Honeywell functions to obtain input relative to their areas of expertise, consolidate and incorporate issues of concern into risk containment recommendations.
  • Provide experienced advice and guidance to the regional leadership and various functions.
  • Support Project Management and execution in any legal post-contract disputes.
  • Support and function as a focal point for external law firms to manage litigations.
  • Support our claims processes as required, identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
  • Support Back-Office, Finance and Working Capital Teams in order acknowledgements, claim management, getting receivables in and bank guarantee procedures.
  • Provide timely monthly reports of contract metrics and complex legal issues.
  • Promote compliance with all Honeywell policies, including those relating to the approval of Sales Agents, Competition Law, Export Control and the Schedule of Executive Approvals, update intranet sites with standard documents. Conduct contracts - and compliance training programs throughout the region.
  • Liaise with other contract managers and General Counsels throughout the Honeywell group

Knowledge & Qualification:
  • Solid knowledge of English Construction law civil, trade and contracting laws.
  • Some knowledge of the Nordics regions and/or Eastern Europe would be a plus.
  • Knowledge in public procurement law is a plus.
  • Expertise and solid experience in contract negotiation principles and techniques.
  • Understanding of financial concepts and impact of contract terms on those concepts.
  • Solid knowledge of laws and regulations governing the contracts (construction law background).
  • Ability to multi-task on a large number of complex contract issues.
  • Ability to find, argue and gain acceptance of new approaches and objectives.
  • Ability to draft, deploy, train and apply policies and procedures in the field.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and support the business from a functional leadership perspective.

Education & Experience
  • Education: Legal degree in English law or a comparable background - e.g. master's in construction law etc
  • Any additional legal or commercial education is a bonus
  • Experience: 7+ years in commercial business or industry, preferably large companies in construction or technology industries.
  • Experience with high quality, high-cost products, services, and/or complex projects is a bonus/
  • Experience in contractual dispute management.
  • Sound experience in analyzing contract terms & conditions and intelligent assessment of risks.
  • Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
