As a Director of Strategic Sourcing here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in driving the procurement strategy and initiatives to achieve cost savings, improve supplier performance, and ensure supply chain continuity. You will lead a team of procurement professionals, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and establish strong supplier relationships. Your expertise in strategic sourcing and supply chain management will be instrumental in driving business growth and competitiveness.

You will report directly to Chief Procurement Officer of Advanced Materials business, and you'll work out of our Morris Plains, NJ location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will have a significant impact on the financial performance of the business through the delivery of cost savings, working capital improvement, and supplier quality. You will be responsible for developing and executing annual and strategic procurement plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will lead sourcing transition initiatives to optimize the supply base, achieve the lowest total cost, and reduce sole/single source risk. Additionally, you will drive improvements in sourcing processes and performance through effective management operating systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver business results including productivity, working capital improvement, supplier performance (quality and delivery) and continuity of all Indirect materials and services
  • Develop and implement strategies to enable global spend leverage and competitive pricing, quality, delivery and risk management with the supply base
  • Lead and mentor the Indirect Procurement leadership team (4 direct reports) and global team (an organization of 18)
  • Drive alignment between procurement and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) practices, processes and key business deliverables
  • Develop and drive Honeywell's procurement strategy for the category
  • Lead Strategy Teams to deliver a aligned procurement approach
  • Lead supplier development and strategic supply base management
  • Develop and drive a Procurement talent management processes including the development of talent pipelines for Procurement
  • Drive synergies and strategy around transition projects
  • Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships to support business needs
  • Effectively consolidate tail suppliers with identified strategic and preferred suppliers
  • Identify and develop new/current suppliers globally and in region who have the capacity and capability to meet the cost, quality and service needs of the business
  • Understand competitive trends in key geographic markets for alternate materials or services to ensure Honeywell has "right" competitive supply solutions
  • Ensure policy compliance across the categories

In October, 2024 Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, independent of Honeywell. Our intention is that this role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, will be a part of this future transaction when the separation occurs.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing procurement strategies
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
  • Knowledge of sourcing processes and tools, such as SAP and e-sourcing platforms
  • International experience with exposure to high-growth regions
  • Cross-functional experience in engineering/technology, operations, sales/marketing
