This Position reports to:
Digital Solution Engineering Manager
We are looking for a passionate and versatile engineer to help build innovative and evolving products within ABB's Routing Services team. Our solutions support vessels in becoming more sustainable, ranging from APIs that provide data for decision-making to tools for service delivery and fleet intelligence.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative and open environment, playing a key role in product planning, design, prototyping, and development. Our teams follow strong principles in software development, ensuring automated testing, deployment, and support. We emphasize knowledge sharing through code reviews and teamwork.
Your responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and test API solutions and/or WPF .NET applications across the full web application stack.
• Work in a Scrum-based Agile environment with frequent production code releases.
• Assist QA engineers by writing automated unit and end-to-end tests.
• Design solutions for small to medium complexity problems in a simple, maintainable, and understandable way.
• Continuously improve the team by actively participating in retrospectives and code reviews.
You are a strong problem solver with a passion for software development. You have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a collaborative environment. Additionally, you bring:
• Strong knowledge of C# with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a corporate or R&D setting.
• Deep understanding of C#, JavaScript, Node.js, and TypeScript, including ES2015+ and ES-modules.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases and REST APIs using microservices built in Node.js and .NET.
• Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.
• Experience developing for the cloud using infrastructure as code (Terraform is a plus).
• Knowledge of OCI-compliant containers and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience developing services for AWS or Azure cloud infrastructure (preferred).
• Familiarity with React and the React ecosystem is an advantage.
• The ability to identify opportunities to modernize products and services, rapidly learn new technologies, and adapt to innovative techniques.
