Job Description: Sr Advanced Hardware Engineer
12+ years of Experience in the field of Hardware Design, Development and Certification Activities.
Responsibilities:
• Should Work collaboratively with Cross-Functional teams (FW, SW, Mech., ISC, AME, Sourcing, Sales, OM, PCB CAD, TAC etc.) as a Core Hardware Architect.
• Understanding Product requirements by closely working with the Offering Management team and translate them into Design requirements eventually define the CTQs for design.
• Develop Product Architecture, Hands on Design, perform Critical design reviews, Certifications & work closely with EMS/CM, Factories to setup the Product Manufacturing.
• Develop Requirement Specifications, Schematic Design capture, PCB Design guidelines & review, Proto build, Board bring up and submission to Certifications, Production Test specifications and work closely with AME team to implement the production processes.
• Ownership to Meet DFX requirements by working closely with Cross functional teams.
• Identify and select electronic Components, prepare Validation plans, review results & approve the alternates (obsolesce management) as part of the Product continuation.
• Work with Regulatory Compliance teams for Environmental, EMC, Safety, Hazardous location approvals, SIL. Should be proficient in certification requirements like UL, CE & Safety with agencies like CSA/TUV.
• Should independently handle Design calculations, DFMEA, Thermal Analysis (Desirable).
• Should independently handle Customer escalations Technically and provide solutions for Legacy & Active products.
• Develop NPI / Process documents as per the process defined in Honeywell and submit these on the PLM tool.
• Solve the technical challenges in projects with Leadership skills.
Essential Technical Skills / Knowledge:
• Must possess good skills in Analog and Digital design along with thorough knowledge on implementations for Industrial Control Systems, Industrial protocols, Power, EMC, SI and Thermal management techniques.
• Expertise on Interfacing the Microprocessor / Microcontrollers with the Low Noise low power ADC, DAC, Sensors, NAND/NOR Flash Memory, LCD /Ethernet /DDR.
• Strong knowledge on, Linear Circuit Design Involving Op-Amps, Instrumentation Amplifiers and various Signal Conditioning Techniques.
• Strong Analytical Skills for Problem Resolution and Design Implementation.
• Expertise on various Serial protocols like SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485, RS232, Ethernet, USB.
• Exposure to design tools for Schematic Designs like OrCAD Capture, PADS LOGIC, Dx Designer or any similar & proficiency on Simulation using PSpice/LTSpice.
• Expertise on Certification requirements for Industrial products to meet EMC (IEC/EN 61326-1), HAZLOC (IEC 60079-0, IEC 60079-11, IEC 60079-7 etc.) & SIL (IEC 61508).
• Knowledge on Design of various types of AC / DC Power Supply, Integration of Wireless technologies like LoRaWAN, BLE, Cellular etc. to the Industrial products.
• Test Equipment Hands on expertise - DSOs, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzer, protocol analyzer, lab equipment Power Supply, Function Generators etc.
• Must have good knowledge on Product Testing for EMC compliance along with knowledge on Environmental Stress Testing, Analysis & Debug of failures.
• Should have experience on Reliability analysis.
• Collaborate with Test & Certification teams to address the observations and Failures.
Preferred skills
• Understanding of NPI stage gate process.
• Strong Analytical and reasoning skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently with a sense of project ownership.
• Decision making and able to take decisions based on assessment of risks.
• Mentoring junior members of the team.
