Airswift is partnering with our client in China for a Subsea Fabrication Project. We are urgently looking for a Subsea Structure Superintendent to join us:

Position Role and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for reviewing and defining the structural requirements for facilities relating to construction, transportation and installation of the subsea structures during EPCIC engineering execution.
  • Direct supervision of Contractors for structural discipline deliverables and items related to construction, transportation and installation of subsea structures.
  • Assist in audits of Contractor execution and performance in the areas of Site Safety, Construction, Preparation for Loadout and Sailaway, Site Engineering and any other site functionality necessary to ensure the completion of the project deliverables and scope in line with defined project goals. Identification of Contractor execution problem areas and working with Contractor to resolve/ implementation of mitigations.
  • Review and approval of Site Technical Queries as they relate to fabrication/ construction/ transportation/ installation activities.
  • Ensure that all materials for seafastening and installation aids are specified, manufactured and delivered per project schedule requirements.
  • Coordination and interface management with all relevant Company and Contractor disciplines and departments for the onshore construction program.
  • Provide inputs into QA/QC procedures for fabrication, construction and installation related activities.
  • Participate in coordination meetings between fabrication, loadout, installation contractors as required.
  • Management of Contractor construction activities to ensure that project requirements are met. Identification of problem areas, and development of mitigations as needed. Communication of status and issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the work deficiencies (repair rate in particular), and ensure the implementation of the necessary corrective actions.
  • Act on behalf of Company at the onshore locations ensuring that work is performed in compliance with Company and identified HSE standards and requirements.
  • Interface and coordinate within the Company's project management team and other discipline engineers on matters relating to fabrication, offshore installation, brownfield construction and support the performance management of Contractor.
  • Liaise with Company's quality, pre-commissioning/commissioning and start-up teams and assist in the review of work and start-up procedures, evaluation and resolution of technical issues, active participation in review workshops and inspection to ensure the work is carried out safely and with the minimum interruption.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Education & Experience
  • A degree in a relevant engineering or technology discipline i.e., MSc, BEng, BSc or a nationally recognised apprenticeship and qualifications supported by minimum work experience requirements defined below.
  • Focused on disciplined project execution and technical management.
  • HSE focused and ability to create safety conscious environment for Company and Contractor site teams.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and relocated to work sites including offshore.
  • Be able to work independently with little supervision but strong sense of responsibility.
  • Minimum of 15 years of oil & gas experience of which 10 years must be related to upstream offshore sector. Project and operational experience in a similar role with an Oil and gas Operator an advantage.
  • Familiar with all international standards and Codes of Practice.
  • Proven experience interfacing with/ managing contractor teams for fabrication of subsea structures, etc. relating to oil and gas developments.
  • Knowledge of fabrication contractors/ entities and experience in working with them.
  • Knowledge of strengths/ weaknesses and demonstrated ability to manage delivery of project scope items in that environment.
  • Extensive experience of supervising the fabrication and construction of structures in contractors' fabrication yards.
  • Experience acting as Company Site Representative during offshore transportation and installation programs.
  • Working experience in South East Asia or China is an advantage.
