ABOUT THE COMPANY

We are the largest oil producer within the ADNOC Group, accounting for over half of ADNOC's total oil production. As the country's oldest oil production company, our operations date back to 1939, when a 75-year concession was signed to explore for oil and gas in Abu Dhabi. As a global industry leader in environmental sustainability, we are the first in the world to capture carbon from the iron and steel industry. Our Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) facility at Al Reyadah has the capacity to capture 800,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) from Emirates Steel Industries (ESI) each year, for use in the Bab and Rumaitha oil fields to support Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). Al Reyadah is, therefore, a critical enabler of ADNOC's 2030 sustainability goals.

ABOUT THE JOB

Design and construct reservoir geological modeling work by conducting a systematic and an integrated reservoir study using sedimentology, facies, seismic information and petrophysical data in order to understand reservoir compartmentalization, distribution, reservoir heterogeneities, properties, quality and architecture to provide accurate resource assessments and input to reservoir simulation for maximize recovery and effective cost.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Updates high quality static reservoir models of carbonate reservoirs, fully integrated with the input from Geophysics and Petrophysics and Reservoir engineering.
  • Plans, supervises the acquisition and analyses Geological/Geophysical and Petrophysical data for/from new appraisal, development and infill wells and provide input integrated reservoir studies.
  • Ensures integrate the required data to build a robust 3D geological model by applying the best understanding and knowledge of Formation sequence stratigraphy, depositional environment, structure geology and Reservoir Rock Typing.
  • Defines key reservoir rock types and flow units correlate them and populate them with reservoir properties in an appropriate manner consistent with the depositional environment.
  • Determines the hydrocarbon volumes in place with associated uncertainty ranges whilst ensuring that all static subsurface uncertainties identified by other disciplines are been properly represented and integrated.
  • Contributes to well proposal/prognosis for new wells and updates the geological models based on well results.
  • Initiates and supervises the geological reservoir characterization studies and ensures applying the quality check following ADNOC ONSHORE standers.
  • Applies uncertainty and sensitivity analysis for all 3D geological model in all undeveloped reservoirs using available tools and software such as but not limited to uncertainty and optimization workflow in Petrel Software to ensure address the most uncertain parameters in the 3D geological model.

Supervision
  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
  • Budgets
  • Provide input for preparation of the Section / Department budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control
