JOB PURPOSE
The jobholder is responsible to develop, design, update, and advise on the Energy Management System and practices to support the energy performance for all company assets, operations, and facilities line with ADNOC Energy management system guidelines, Energy Certification (i.e. ISO 50001) and relevant local and international standards, regulations, and best practices.
This role includes; improving energy efficiency of the process plants by ensuring company operating principles are in line with the local regulations, and international standards; monitoring and contributing to the Energy Practice and Energy Performance; while leading the energy certifications for Borouge's plants in Ruwais.

The jobholder is responsible to develop, design, update, and advise on the Energy Management System and practices to support the energy performance for all company assets, operations, and facilities line with ADNOC Energy management system guidelines, Energy Certification (i.e. ISO 50001) and relevant local and international standards, regulations, and best practices.
This role includes; improving energy efficiency of the process plants by ensuring company operating principles are in line with the local regulations, and international standards; monitoring and contributing to the Energy Practice and Energy Performance; while leading the energy certifications for Borouge's plants in Ruwais.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Energy Practice
- Monitor the company practices to ensure that the company's system and practices are in energy management compliance with ADNOC standard guidelines.
- Analyze, update, and review the energy management system in accordance with the international certification; i.e. ISO 50001 standard.
- Develop manuals, procedures and other documents related to energy optimization issues and ensure that energy performance is consistent with best knowledge and practices.
- Participate in the internal audit and represent the company within the external audit events and surveillances.
Energy Performance
- Prepare and publish the daily energy performance report and monthly energy performance report which includes performance analysis of all assets, all significant energy using equipment and recommend actionable areas of improvement to operations.
- Follow up with operations to ensure plant operation is as per best energy practices or guidelines and to minimize energy losses.
- Monitor and report the status of energy efficiency improvement projects in a periodic manner for ensuring timely action towards final implementation and accrual of benefits.
- Recommend actions and identify opportunities to improve the Energy Efficiency of the plants.
- Recommend energy models for operations and equipment to support energy calculations in predicting, measuring and verifying energy savings.
- Maintain the energy reports, dashboard, and other energy records to ensure availability of proper tracking.
Certified Energy Management
- Develop the company Energy Management System in accordance with the international energy management certification' requirements and updates.
- Monitor and advise on the energy management requirements for any project or asset updates to ensure meeting the desired compliance criteria.
- Responsible for all energy auditing, especially key areas including energy performance, energy review, energy baselines, operational controls, training and competences.
Awareness & Communication
- Communicate and train the operations focal points and process trainers understand with respect to energy consumption how their activities and behavior contribute to the achievement of energy objectives and targets.
- Recommend different types of communications, on a timely basis, for energy-related targets and objectives to all relevant personnel.
- Develop jointly with the training department energy related training materials and annual energy training plan.
- Support in communicating success stories related to energy saving initiatives including benefit estimation or verification.
Borouge Corporate Responsibilities

- Participate and contribute to the design, development and establishment of an Integrated Risk Management Framework within the Unit while identifying and assessing relevant domain risks and implement measures to manage and mitigate all identified risks within the function.
- Ensure corporate business ethics and the Company's Code of Conduct are communicated to employees within the function in compliance with the Corporate Policies and guidelines.
HSE Excellence
- Keep abreast and knowledgeable on the updates for Health, Safety, Environment, Crisis Management, and Risk Registers for all the performed processes, projects and activities within the operating zone.
- Promote, communicate and lead by example all the safety-related communications, updates, standards and any related topics with co-workers and within any interface.
- Contribute to provide timely feedback and recommendations to leverage a risk-free environment to ensure the ultimate goals of safe workplace.
Departmental Plans
- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned processes / area to meet functional objectives.
- Provide input for preparation of the section / department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver the respective objectives.
- Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the section / department in line with the company's performance framework, and KPIs
- Analyze and address any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control
- Review, prepare, and recommend the required reports on work activities, projects, processes, etc. to next level manager in line with business requirements.
Processes & Systems
- Implement approved the respective policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures to support execution of the work programs.
- Perform analysis on the respective processes and activities to ensure timely availability of the data analysis within the respective areas.
- Train and develop the assigned staff in relevant skills to enable them to become proficient in the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
- Provide feedback on the updating and implementation of new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of processes.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
- Adhere to professional business relations and commercial responsibilities in the areas of customer delight, data confidentiality, business communications and representation, and Borouge's corporate image.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or engineering / Technical Qualification.
- University degree in Business, Finance, or any related discipline
- Fluency in English Language; written and oral
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum of 8 - 12 years of total experience in Energy Management occupations.
- Understanding of energy balances and energy efficiency calculations for various processes.
- Experience in identification and implementation of energy saving process modifications.
- Knowledge of Energy Management Systems and their requirements and standards.
- Experience in Petrochemicals, Oil & Gas or similar industries.
Professional Certifications
- Certified Energy Auditor / Manager is preferred.
- Certified in Energy Management; ISO 50001 standard.
