The position

We are currently looking for a Head of Solution Portfolio, Electric Power Test, for our team in the Product Group, DAQ & Sensors. Our new Head of Solution Portfolio for Electric Power Test will be responsible for maintaining, growing, and expanding the portfolio (DAQ & Sensors) through organic growth and M&A, balancing innovation, cost and quality. You will lead a dedicated team of Product Managers and Product Owners structured around the core end-markets.

You will join our Product Group DAQ and Sensors team in one of HBK's key business units. This exciting position offers opportunity for growth, while being part of a great, international team of tech experts and contributing to shaping the future of our technologies in our mission of empowering innovators.

The role can be performed remotely from France, Portugal or Germany.

Primary responsibilities

  • Developing and executing the solution portfolio strategy and directing the health of the portfolio by pro-actively managing the risks (market, competition, technology or other) and making trade-offs. This includes aligning the strategy with all relevant stakeholders (Sales, R&D, Operations, Finance, Strategy) and recommending portfolio investment (organic and M&A) based on solid business cases & ROI.
  • Delivering the Solution/ Product Portfolio performance targets including financial performance, vitality index and customer KPIs such as NPS.

  • Developing the portfolio go-to-market strategies to grow the EPT solution portfolio and manage associated commercial risks and tradeoffs. This includes leadership of the ' Commercial forum' that brings Product; R&D; Sales; Business Development and Marketing together to deliver the commercial outcomes of the proposition/s
  • Developing, prioritizing and executing the Customer Solution Portfolio Roadmap (consisting of EPT customer value propositions) based on customer insights and technology, competitive & end-market trends. This includes understanding the requirements of existing customers and conducting market insight to identify opportunities for innovation and new growth in products, solutions and markets and defining & managing customer segmentation to deliver winning propositions.
  • Translating the solution roadmap, in collaboration with R&D, into the technology roadmap and making choices on funding allocation and management in the EPT portfolio and across the 3 solution portfolios, as required (including design, development, build, delivery & product maintenance).
  • Managing the lifecycle of product families and product lines, including proposals for investments and divestments and identifying and evaluating M&A targets and providing support for execution.
  • Setting pricing strategy for the Portfolio and executing pricing in collaboration with the Pricing Excellence team.

  • Driving functional excellence by identifying internal and external best practice, acting as a thought leader for the function; building an engaged team that continues to raise the bar inspiring others with energy and ambition to do the best for our business, customers and people, and championing and coaching talent.

Professional qualifications

You hold a Master's degree in Engineering, Business Management or commercial management and have at least 8 years of proven experience in a management position, with similar scope of responsibilities, in particular:
  • Experience in Portfolio margin & profitability
  • Customer Experience - NPS; Customer retention; market share
  • Leading virtual & matrix teams across KAM, Sales, Marketing as well as Product & R&D in and outside of DAQ
  • Innovation - e.g. speed to market, measured through vitality index
  • Product quality e.g. market launch performance; product reliability / durability
  • Team engagement measured through the Peakon Employee Survey
  • Knowledge and experience in Agile methodology for project management.

Personal skills

  • Culturally agile and able to effectively lead and build bridges with cross functional teams that are geographically dispersed
  • Hands on approach, translating requirements and feedback into actionable plans and drive execution thorough strategic and innovative thinking

  • Customer-centric mindset and passion for providing value to our customers
  • Able to manage/influence/inspire up and down the hierarchy
  • Experienced leader with proven record of leading a diverse and global team in complex organizations- environments of product management or R&D
  • Adept at matrix management, performance management and talent development
  • Knowledge of the Test and Measurement domain would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of the electrification market in aerospace and automotive would be an advantage
