Butler-Warner Generation Plant Internship

FAYETTEVILLE PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION

The selected student should be working towards at least one degree and/or certificates in Engineering, Power Generation Tech., or Operations/ Project Management

Internship Description:

PWC's College Internship Program is a robust program where you will get real on-the-job experience. Throughout your summer here you will also have opportunities to meet with professionals in your desired field, create working relationships, and present to executives.

Internship Job Description:

We are looking for a goal-oriented and enthusiastic student to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting and working with all Generation departments to include operations, maintenance, and administration. Such things like operator log-rounds, chemistry sampling, completing reports, warehouse inventory/stock, instrumentation calibrations, preventive maintenance activities and many other day to day tasks throughout the plant. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to experience what it is like to work at one of the Worlds must see destinations, that is Included on "Plants to See" by the World Energy Conference & APPA.

  • Familiarity with Windows Operating systems and a variety of web browsers

Project Outline:

Daily tasks may include the following:
  • Operations- Daily log-rounds, Chemistry Sampling, Reporting
  • Maintenance- Workorders, Instrumentation Calibrations, Preventive Maintenance, Warehouse Inventory
  • Administration- Digitalization, Filing, Reporting

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Applicant must be currently enrolled as a full-time college student
  • Applicant is required to submit a transcript indicating his/her field of study
  • Applicant must have three (3) years of driving experience (if required to drive PWC vehicles)
  • Applicant is eligible to be hired in a job related to his/her field of study (i.e., the student should not be hired as a clerical person for the summer unless that is his/her field of study)

Pay Scale:
  • 1st Year of College completed: $15.00
  • 2nd Year of College completed: $16.00
  • 3rd Year of College completed: $17.00
