Primary job function for this post will be performing various types of advanced finite element simulations and structural analysis related to energy such as seismic, blast, ship collision, fire, dropped object, etc with guidance from lead/senior structural engineer. This challenging role provides opportunities to work from early concept selection to detailed engineering projects.

We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Genesis Delivery Management team based in Houston, Texas.
About the Job
Primary job function for this post will be performing various types of advanced finite element simulations and structural analysis related to energy such as seismic, blast, ship collision, fire, dropped object, etc with guidance from lead/senior structural engineer. This challenging role provides opportunities to work from early concept selection to detailed engineering projects.
- Learn the basics of onshore / offshore structural engineering analysis and design calculations taking instruction and working with a more experienced offshore structural engineer.
- Apply code and project required loads on the finite element models to perform structure strength analyses and fatigue assessments.
- Perform complex numerical modeling including ductile and brittle fracture of structures under extreme loading conditions
- Perform seismic assessment of some types of offshore platform like TLP and Jacket, subsea facilities, pipelines under seismic fault movement, etc.
- Perform ship collision analysis.
- Perform technical tasks assigned by Lead/Senior engineer in onshore / offshore feasibility, conceptual, basic engineering, FEED and Detailed Engineering Projects.
- Ensure the technical quality and accuracy of the work produced and the assigned tasks are completed on time.
- Interface with other departments, clients, vendors, subcontractors and third parties as per Lead Engineers instructions.
- Participate in inter-discipline, project, client and vendor meetings when requested by project team/lead engineer.
- Perform linear and nonlinear analyses for strength assessment (Abaqus, ANSYS) following guidance from lead/senior engineer.
- Perform fire and blast analysis to assess structural safety.
- Perform dropped object analysis to evaluate the structural strength and ductility.

About You
Wed love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or above with a Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Ocean Engineering
- PE certification is a plus
- Less than 2 years' experience
- Good communication and organization skills and working knowledge of Microsoft applications is essential
- Self-motivated, good attitude and willing to take responsibility
- Must be willing to learn new software or analysis methods as project needs arise
- Must interpret, organize, execute, and eventually coordinates assignments
- Candidates should have demonstrated analytical skills and computer simulation skills
- Modelling and analysis experience with Abaqus, ANSYS, LS-Dyna, and SACS
- Working knowledge in programming languages e.g. MATLAB, Fortran, Python, C++, Visual Basic is a plus
- Conversant with international codes and standards API, AISC, ABS & DNV
- Experience in non-linear finite element analyses, especially with fire, blast structural response, and dropped object analyses is a plus
