Internal :
- This role demands the supervision of inspection and testing activities of lube oil, greases samples as per defined test methods and to ensure that products meet all specified parameters.
- Daily communication & reporting on all operational & QHSE activity in Laboratory with Line Manager.
External :
- To extend quality control services to all departments - Lube Production, GMU, Logistics and Technical departments to validate process compliance towards stated procedures at different stages of operations.
Activities
ACTIVITIES
- Comply with Quality, HSE & Energy Policies & Procedures, & Lab specific rules & regulations
- Ensure reporting of all near misses.
- Ensure proper use of PPE during testing and chemical handling as defined in procedures and test methods by self and staff at Lab.
- To ensure safe handling of all chemicals, raw materials and products in compliance with MSDS requirements.
- To ensure excellent housekeeping in the Laboratory at all times.
- Ensure supervision & execution of sampling, inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process and finished products are carried out and samples are tested as per the frequency and as per defined test methods.
- Ensure reporting of test results as per the precision and bias as detailed in ASTM test methods.
- To carry out and supervision of all quality checks, testing, validation and cross verifications on products at all stages of process as per defined specifications, guidelines, procedures and work instructions.
- Maintenance of all testing and QC records & data.
- Carry out formulation and optimizations and pilot blend developments as per the production and technical requirements.
- Timely review and validation of trials blends results along with Assistant Manager QC.
- Ensure organized upkeep of all formulation controlled documents and RFC's.
- Ensure timely release of test reports for production and other samples and to ensure prompt technical services and support to all manufacturing units (Lube, Grease).
- Ensure timely and correct entries of BOM in SAP as per the codes advised by Technical Team.
- Ensure periodical review of all products BOMs produced in TELBU.
- Assist in development of formulations for reprocessing of slow moving and dead stock.
- Supervise proper handling & up-keep of all laboratory equipment / instruments and accessories.
- Completion of calibration of equipment as specified in calibration schedule and verify for upkeep of records.
- Monitor of stock counting of all laboratory chemicals and to ensure testing activities are not delayed due to unavailability of chemicals, glassware & consumables.
- Upkeep of all current test methods for testing of Lubricants and Greases and associated raw materials.
- Supervise laboratory operations in respective shifts.
- To perform testing on round robin samples as per good laboratory practices and test and respective test methods.
- Provide inputs for root cause analysis for failures in manufacturing process, product audits and Quality incidents in Lab and associated record keeping.
- Authority to stop production or dispatch, in case if any non-conformity is identified and report to line manager.
- Support line manager to maintain ongoing compliance to meet Management systems requirements at all times and to support during audits by certification bodies, regulatory bodies, customers, Group Audits by TotalEnergies and plant internal audits.
- Monitor compliance of check samples to ensure proper functioning of testing equipment.
- Use of SPC techniques pertaining to Lab operations.
- Support line manager for Measurement system Analysis (MSA) and other ongoing improvement programs.
- Support line manager for respective shift and chemist availability plan.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Job related Objectives & Assignments:
- 100% compliance towards requirements as stated in standard test methods and to ensure that reported results comply with the precision and bias as detailed in standard test methods.
- To ensure timely reporting of sample and batch approvals in respective shifts.
- Perform the role of Assistant Manager Quality Control in his absence.
- Ability to communicate and liaise with lab operations service providers.
- Knowledge sharing within team based on learnings.
HSSEQ & Compliance related Objectives & Assignments:
- Strict adherence towards Quality, HSE & Energy policies, rules, procedures and work instructions to contribute effectively towards achieving over all company target of zero TRIR & LTIR.
- Compliance towards Group HSE Charter & MAESTRO requirement and affiliate's HSSEQ Policy, Procedures & specific rules & regulations applicable to the area of activity at all time.
- Demonstrates exemplary conduct, rigor, vigilance and professionalism regarding HSE in all their activities
- Compliance to processes and guidelines specific to position's roles and responsibilities.
- Comply with TEMME Safe Work Permit program (as per the PTW roles and responsibility assignment : process owner/ permit applicant/ issuing authority.
- Participate in the training program to acquire QHSE knowledge and impart this training to colleagues as and when required by Management.
- Reporting of near misses, incidents, hazards & injuries to line Manager within the time frame as required by Quality, HSE, Energy policies and Manuals.
- Participate in the investigation and analysis of incidents as and when required.
- Adherence to QHSE requirements with full authority to stop any operation for safety reasons.
- Ensure full adherence to the company's compliance program, its policies and procedures including economic sanctions and export control in all professional activities.
- Promptly notify the compliance officer/economic sanctions referent of any instances of noncompliance or violations of economic sanctions or export control that comes to my attention.
Candidate Profile
Knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of troubleshooting of equipment.
- Knowledge on IATF Core Tools addressing SPC, MSA, FMEA, PPAP, APQP and OEM Customer Specific requirements pertaining to applicable areas of operations .
- ERP & LIMS preferred
