Workforce Safety Lead

About the position:
The Workforce Safety Lead will provide guidance and coordination to ensure the safe and compliant execution of work across business units. This role involves providing technical safety and regulatory compliance guidance, assessing and managing risks, and supporting incident preparedness and response. The Workforce Safety Lead will work closely with various departments to implement safety processes and procedures, prevent serious incidents and fatalities, and meet regulatory and Chevron Operational Excellence (OE) expectations. The Workforce Safety Lead reports to the Workforce Safety Team Lead.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead team of advisors in executing work relating to Control of Work (CoW)Establish clear expectations in the evaluation of workplace safety risks during maintenance, turnaround, and technical projects (brownfield projects) planning, and assist in the identification or development of safeguards.
• Provide oversight on technical and regulatory compliance related to safety.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and execute workforce safety initiatives for supported business units.
• Provide guidance and support for changes to safeguards or processes, and share insights from data analysis.
• Mentor and coach team members in the development of HSE Training course material.
• Provide work direction, resource planning, workload management, prioritization of work, performance management, resolving personnel issues, mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance.
Required Qualifications:
• Experience leading safety teams and working with field personnel.
• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of related safety experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of workforce safety technical standards and regulations pertaining to industrial workplace settings.
• Strong leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and program/project management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence internal and external stakeholders.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
