Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations. The work model for the role is: remote #LI-Remote This role is contributing to the Motion division in the US. You will be mainly accountable for: Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points. Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform. Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities. Acting as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.

Qualifications for the role

  • Associate degree and 3 years of relevant experience or High school diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of 5 years of military education/experience required. Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field and 1 year of relevant experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in installing, testing, repairing or troubleshooting AC/DC drive systems and their associated controls.
  • Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Willing to provide technical support during evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule.
  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions; performs work related travel; and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moder-ate, occasionally loud. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and sit; use hands to manipulate and control tools, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and taste or smell.
  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the United States.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $57,400 and $106,600 annually plus overtime.
