Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.

Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary

This position is for a technical chemistry position who will support the station in chemistry program implementation during normal and off normal periods. This position will respond to inquiries from the Department of Environmental Protection, State Water Control Board, Quality Assurance, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Institute Nuclear Power Operator. Participate in various chemistry internal and industry audits, evaluations, and inspections. Employee has advanced in proficiency and established full competency in their respective discipline. Understand and comply with established procedures and with rules of Code of Federal Regulations, Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulatory guides, National Standards, and other regulatory agencies. Regularly exercise independent judgment on moderately complex projects and assignments with minimal oversight. They will be able to analyze data, formulate and contribute to solutions based on the available data and change programmatic requirements to align with changes in industry and regulatory guidance. They can perform all tasks of the Advanced Nuclear Specialist position and in addition are able to perform the following: SQR and 50.59 screener qualified, Design and develop training lesson plans as the subject matter expert, routinely function in a mentoring role and utilizes experience to function with minimal oversight, write and review work procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Be able to write and review work procedures. Qualified to review and implement new changes to required programs for the department
  • Lead as department interface in various internal and industry audits, evaluations, and inspections.
  • Evaluate and update established procedures and with rules of Code of Federal Regulations, Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulatory guides, National Standards, and other regulatory agencies. Implement new procedures to comply with new regulations or industry guidance.
  • Chemistry/Radiation Protection Outage leadership position.
  • Design and develop lesson plans associated with their discipline as a subject matter expert.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • 5 years with B.S in Related Science; in lieu of degree, 6-7 years in related field or military
  • Preferred Supervisory Experience -5 years related in field
  • A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this job.

Other Qualifications/Skills:
  • Must meet Nuclear's requirements for unescorted plant access
  • Microsoft Office Suite app proficiency
  • Stong communication skills

Desired:
  • Working knowledge of EPRI and INPO Chemistry/Radiation Protection practices
  • Analytical data evalution techniques
