Job Description Summary

The Lead Quality Engineer impacts departmental operations and is responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with New Product Introductions (NPI) hardware by creating FAIs (First Article Inspections)
  • Involved with all aspects of quality documentation, inspection, and other quality related activities
  • Create quality plans
  • Investigate root cause and implement corrective actions
  • Ownership of quality assurance and quality control (Includes quality assurance of products, services, manufacturing processes. Includes conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.)
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent
  • Provide informal guidance to new team members


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of Production Quality and/or Related Manufacturing experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of Production Quality and/or Related Manufacturing experience
