Biologist - Ontario

We are looking for Biologist to join our team in Ontario. The role will be a combination of in-office work as well as field-based assignments. We are looking for Junior to Intermediate Biologist to join our team. The role will be a combination of in-office work as well as field-based assignments.

Location - Toronto, ON

Your role within the team:
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct biological surveys in accordance with applicable protocols/methods (depending on your specialism).
  • Conducts environmental desktop studies and research.
  • Ensure technical quality of work including field methods.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory approval and permitting applications.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical data reports.
  • Environmental sampling when required (e.g., water and soil).

The ideal candidate:
  • Post-secondary education (Relevant University degree, diploma or graduation from a technical program).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience planning, conducting and/or managing biological studies (e.g., wildlife, vegetation, wetlands, fish and fish habitat studies).
  • Knowledge and understanding of Ontario terrestrial and/or aquatic habitats.
  • Working knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation and regulatory process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to write data reports.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Please note that some work for this position may be in remote locations for extended periods of time and may require overtime, weekends and variable hours.
