This Position reports to:
Country Holding Officer

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure that all local businesses conduct their activities in line with ABB trade policies and guidelines. Each day, you will drive and coordinate the local implementation of ABB's Global Trade Program as part of the fiduciary duties under the lead business in a country, cluster, region, or regional execution organization. You will also showcase your expertise by overseeing compliance with all applicable customs, sanctions, and export control regulations, as well as by providing training to the respective country, cluster, region, or regional execution organization.

The work model for the role is: #Hybrid this role contributes to supporting Country Management (under Lead Business Management in the country) in Zagreb.

Qualifications:

• Authorities, Export Control and Customs Compliance
Serving as the single point of contact for local (national) trade compliance authorities and country management (respectively lead local business management) in handling trade compliance relating to ABB (deemed) exports, cross-border shipments, customers, or vendors.
• Governance, Instructions and Procedures
Ensuring the creation and maintenance of written trade compliance standards and procedures for all Local Businesses addressing all applicable export control, sanctions, and customs compliance requirements. Implementing screening standards and managing export license applications and SAP GTS blocks.
• Customs and Export Control Classification
Ensuring proper classification of all imported and exported products, software, and technologies through appointed business-based Product Classification Engineers (PCEs) and responsible local business management, with respect to relevant national and international export control regulations and national tariff/commodity classification. Assisting in classification for special transactions, as needed.
• Trade Compliance Governance & Risk Management
Developing and implementing a strategy to monitor, manage, and mitigate trade compliance-related risks and opportunities, including close cooperation with customs operations staff and the preparation and use of regular local internal trade reviews (audits of trade compliance) in the Local Businesses.

Qualifications:

• You hold a Degree in Economics or in Law with extensive knowledge of export control and customs rules and regulations.
• You are highly skilled in working with business processes and methodologies, and you enjoy working with the supply chain, risk management, and logistics market.
• Possess an enhanced knowledge of Microsoft package and familiarity with financial reporting, SAP ERP knowledge would be considered a plus.
• You are passionate about collaborating across boundaries, connecting people, ideas, processes, and issues.
• You are innovative in influencing and motivating others, presenting sound and well-reasoned arguments to inspire action.
• You are at ease communicating in English and Croatian, both verbally and in writing.
• You hold current licenses valid in the job location and country-specific VISA/work permit where required.
