Wood is recruiting a Senior Structural Engineer as part of our strategic growth plan for 2025 and beyond. You will join our Operations business in a pivotal role as we partner with a major player in the Oil & Gas industry on a major brownfields Engineering Service Contract. Based in Perth CBD, this is a permanent role and is available as a full-time / part-time (job share) basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Lead Structural Engineer, you will be working across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery, with a focus on design. To be successful in your Senior Structural Engineer role, you will have prior Senior engineer level working experience in the Offshore LNG, FPSO, Oil & Gas sectors within an EPCM engineering and maintenance project environment with offshore scope of work engagements.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Structural engineering activities across the project life cycle (Concept, FEED, detailed design) to produce fit for fit-for-purpose solution
• Produce cost-effective Structural engineering reports, documents and deliverables for inclusion in workpacks,
• Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
• Provide technical assistance to others when required

QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:

You will be able to work lawfully in Australia and hold full working rights for this location. If you have a visa application in progress, you are also encouraged to apply.

Suitably qualified in Structural / Civil Engineering from a recognised institution, ideally you will have proven experience working in a similar Senior Structural Engineering role, supported by 6 + years of relevant design engineering experience within the Oil & Gas production and / or processing industries.

In addition, you will have:

• Experience in Offshore site environment and site surveying/scoping
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with the client
• Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise
• Experience in the use of relevant software packages (e.g. SACS, StaadPro)
• Experience in the use of API, AISC and ISO design codes.
• Be customer focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood.
