Position Purpose/Summary
To successfully manage assigned project/programs and responsible for the overall completion in accordance with
company procedures and in support of the overall growth target of Asia Pacific Engineering department. With prime
responsibility to plan, execute and finalize the project including acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of
team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. In addition,
to ensure NPI / PAC deployment in the region efficiently and continuously improve PM excellence.
Key Areas of Responsibility
• Direct and manage project development from beginning to end. Define scope, goals and deliverables that
support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop full-scale
project plans and associated communications documents. Effectively manage the project data and
deliverables ( Use tools like VPM system and E-NPI system)
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear
fashion. Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project. Liaise with
project stakeholders on an ongoing basis, e.g., Organize and attend PAC and other regular or ad hoc
review meetings, summarize and communicate and meeting notes, decisions and action plan.
• Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders. Exhibits
leadership qualities to define requirements for project risks, Possesses skills like organization, presentation
and customer service skills. Oversees and directs the project engineering team and manages conflicts
within the different groups.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Coach,
mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive
action and accountability for their assigned work.
• Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Accurately report the status (resources, technical issues,
customer satisfaction) of assigned projects on all key metrics. Determine the frequency and content of status
reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas. Delegate tasks and
responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
• Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Draft and submit budget
proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary. Determine and assess need for
additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Identify and manage project
dependencies and critical path. Track project milestones and deliverables. Identify and resolve issues and
conflicts within the project team.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
• Continuous improvement in NPI/PAC processes and practices by close connection with global and PM
council.
Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• PMP certification a plus
Experience
• More than 5 years experience in professional project management and proven
experience in delivery of complex technology based projects to the process industries.
• Leadership experience in a professional engineering environment.
• Consumer related product Project Management experience is preferred.
• 2-3 years material engineer experience is a plus
• Familiar with CMMI is a plus
• material background is Plus
Professional Skills / Knowledge
• Be able to clearly identify, define, communicate, estimate and manage the project
scope of complex multi-discipline engineering, procurement and construction projects.
• Be able to develop robust change management process, keeping customer informed
of changes in a timely manner, using the entire project team to identify change, and
leveraging changes to improve project margin (consistent with the contract).
• Be able to identify, mitigate and manage risks on multiple parties projects involve mfg
sites in different countries.
• Understanding of business, technology and external environment.
• Domain knowledge in one or more key similar skill sets (HW/FW/SW).
• Working knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
• Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated business sense.
• Must have written and oral communication skills at all levels of the organization.
