- Provide advice and coaching to Instrument Technicians in the Maintenance and repair of instrumentation and control systems at Onshore and Offshore facilities.
- Monitor instrumentation equipment inventory.
- Maintain instrumentation and control systems; implement upgrades of systems as needed to meet operating objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in the installation, commissioning and start-up of facility instrumentation components.
- Responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining a variety of moderately complex to complex instrumentation and electrical equipment to include control systems, sensors, analyzers, electrical motors, pneumatic instrumentation, programmable controllers, etc. to insure optimum performance of machines and associated equipment.
- Repair and/or replace functional parts of control instruments and ability to interpret instructions and diagrams in correcting existing problems.
- Maintain appropriate records on completed work performed and forwards logs along with findings to immediate supervisor.
- Assist with equipment failure analysis.
- Adheres to all health, safety, and compliance requirements in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Implement the maintenance plan and preventive maintenance schedules Using the CMMS/SAP for facility instrumentation and control systems.
- Provide guidance to/ and mentor instrument technicians in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing system components.
- Monitor equipment inventories to ensure spare parts availability, and inform Senior Instrument Supervisor of parts that need to be ordered.
- Provide technical and operations input during site acceptance testing, commissioning and start-up of new instrument and control system installations.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including 5 years in a supervisory capacity. Experience with instrumentation systems for level, flow and process control, good knowledge of systems commissioning and systems failure analysis.
