Job Description

Job Duties:

• Installation, commissioning and ongoing preventative maintenance for horizontal pump systems.
• Operating horizontal pump systems in the field and to assist with installation/commissioning.
• Will be using a variety of hand and power tools (1 ½ - 1 ¾ wrenches, fluke alignment tools, micrometers, impact wrenches etc) to work on pumps and rotating equipment.
• A Firm understanding of alignment procedures for rotating equipment is necessary.
• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches, managing on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions. Understand and apply pump affinity laws to HPS systems.
• Maintain detailed records of service and maintenance activities and internal documentation required for billing.
• This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of horizontal pumping systems, which are vital in various industrial applications.
• Knowledgeable of safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Prepares paperwork to include detailed service reports and forms.
• Ability and willingness to travel out of town and to and from location when needed.
• Working environment will consist of being exposed to the outdoor weather elements.
• Maintain mechanical performance and cleanliness of truck used in transportation to and from the field.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in relevant fields/trades are often preferred.
• 3 to 4 years of experience in artificial lift operations.
• Minimum of 6 months experience with rotating equipment experience (maintenance or assembly) preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar role or in the oil and gas industry is beneficial.
• Strong technical and mechanical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently in the field.
• Good communication skills to interact with clients and team members.

Additional preferred qualifications:

• Horizontal OR Electric Submersible Pump systems experience
• H2S, First Aid, TDG, WHMIS certifications
• Has worked with competitors (Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, Levare etc.)
• Electrical motor experience (for pump troubleshooting)
• Millwright background
