PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must have the ability drive both stand up or sit down style forklifts to transport stored items from warehouse to production areas or to pick up items for daily shipments both safely and in a timely manner.
- Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions daily to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas using forklift or push carts daily.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Marks materials with identifying information such as part number, heat number, and country of origin.
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards and notifies management of any non-conformance immediately.
- Must be qualified to fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, or other stock items and distributes items to production areas.
- Demonstrate an ability to quickly identify and resolves any cycle count, inventory, and receiving errors
- Must use JD Edwards to look-up, change and/or add all inventory locations and transactions.
- Ability to cross train and help in other key areas when needed.
- Assemble equipment according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints using hand and power tools and some measuring devices.
- Checks completed units, ensuring proper alignment of parts and components and notes any need for modification.
- Conducts or assists in final test to ensure proper operation of parts.
- Notifies management of malfunctions.
- Assists in trouble shooting, noting need for corrective action.
- Grind components as necessary to meet the requirements of individual components.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2 -3 year(s) related experience and/or technical training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work in ERP to pull work orders.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of shop safety practices.
- Broad knowledge and experience in:
- Above average skills in: Retaining Instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to: Progressively Assemble.
- General knowledge of: Mechanical applications.
Preferred Experience
- 1 -3 year(s) of experience in inventory control, shipping/receiving, forklift operation and order pulling.
- JD Edwards or similar ERP System.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to operate various styles of forklifts to meet production needs along with meeting all safety requirements.
- Ability to demonstrate precise inventory control, good time management skills, and strong multitasking capabilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge on how to operate within a general shop, material handling and safety focused warehouse that is essential to maintaining a high volume manufacturing environment.
- Data entry utilizing JD Edwards or similar ERP system.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands or arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
