Position Summary
As a Solar Assistant Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful execution of solar energy projects from inception to completion. Job Responsibilities
- Understand project designs and recommend cost-saving measures during installation and procurement.
- Assist the project manager in securing timely approvals for permits and engineering requests.
- Minimize redesigns through meticulous review of design documents.
- Collaborate with operations and owners to obtain signoffs and maintain compliance standards.
- Manage job costs to ensure projects stay within budget, comparing margins versus actual costs weekly.
- Maintain customer satisfaction through timely responsiveness to client inquiries and achieving excellent customer satisfaction ratings.
- Stay informed about industry trends through regular attendance at industry webinars.
- Monitor daily progress to ensure projects remain on track for labor and quality standards.
- Follow up proactively in case of missing progress reports.
- Ensure effective job closeout procedures, including thorough documentation and timely distribution of reports to customers.
- Manage warranties and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate billing and compiling precise submittals.
- Assist in contract review to ensure compliance and provide recommendations on non-standard items.
- Secure competitive pricing for subcontractors and conduct post-job reviews to document lessons learned.
- Prioritize safety compliance and support seamless project handoff and startup procedures.
- Monitor potential change orders, estimate their impact, and facilitate their execution.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Education
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering technologies preferred (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Management, or related)
Experience
- 0-3-year experience preferred?
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Experience working for a solar/roofing/trade/construction company preferred.
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record required.
- Successful background investigation
- Successful Pre-Employment Drug Screen
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
- Advanced customer service skills
- Proficient knowledge in computer skills: MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook
