Short description

Are you an experienced MIG Welder? Our client is in the dredging and offshore industry for more than 30 years. Their scope of works is designing and manufacturing a variety of steel products (pipes, elbows, fittings, plates, and several other special shapes and parts). The pieces weight between 3-7 tons and complete assembly varies from 20 to 50 tons.

Function description

For this position as a Welder, your main responsibilities will be:

• Perform MIG welding on thick steel plates (50-130mm).
• Read and interpret technical drawings.
• Prepare materials and surfaces for welding, including grinding, beveling, and fitting.
• Inspect welds for accuracy and quality, performing rework as necessary.
• Operate overhead cranes and other heavy equipment safely.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a MIG welder in a heavy industrial or shipbuilding environment.
• Proficiency in welding thick steel plates (50-130mm) using MIG techniques.
• Strong understanding of welding procedures, metallurgy, and safety standards.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
