The Government Relations function at Honeywell isresponsible for advising and advocating for legislative and regulatory policiesthat support Honeywell's business objectives, providing sales support for majorcontract wins with government customers and state-owned enterprises andenabling relevant tax, grant and incentive benefits that lower costs.
Success within the Government Relations function is measuredby priority Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) developed each year incoordination with our Strategic Business Units, High Growth Region leadershipand Honeywell's CEO. These KPIs are updated quarterly and results are reportedto Honeywell's senior leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director of Government Relations will drive adoption oflegislation that support Honeywell's products. The responsibilities willinclude:
- Create and implement the Government Relations strategy for the Americas region in support of BA's NA growth strategy.
- Build a network for Honeywell with governments in the US States and Canada provincial and national government including development and implementation of a stakeholder engagement plan.
- Assess policy initiatives and funding opportunities that could grow BA over STRAP in the region to determine whether proactive engagement would be warranted and if so, develop advocacy strategy.
- Partner with businesses to develop government relations strategies related to specific product initiatives and/or business imperatives with a focus on identifying funding sources to support business growth.
- Serve as subject matter expert on legislation and the impact on Honeywell and our products.
- Work with cross-functional team of attorneys, business leaders, customers, and other government relations team members to develop creative solutions that incorporate government relations into business problem solving.
- Manage and participate in relationships with consulting firms and associations.
- Develop and execute a strategic engagement plan for Honeywell GR, business and functional leaders in the region to positively impact Honeywell's business priorities.
- Review, develop and execute, with GR leadership, the recommended Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the region
- Advocate for adoption of government policies, including legislation and regulations, to drive sales for products and services and avoid costs.
- Develop relationships to drive business growth with government customers.
- Expand and enhance Honeywell's profile in the region positioning Honeywell as the leader in Building Automation to drive key customer outcomes to enable growth for Honeywell's products and services.
- Build a multi-state BD program leveraging existing and new political consultants in support of BA verticals.

Preferred Requirements/Competencies:
- Bachelor's and/or Advanced degree, Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Chemistry or Engineering preferred or applicable comparable experience
- Excellent internal stakeholder management; able to interact with a high level of credibility with all levels of leadership, including most senior executives within Honeywell, to influence, communicate, educate and enlist support for critical objectives.
- Excellent external stakeholder management (senior public officials, members of congress). Need to be able to speak effectively and with credibility to all levels of government as a representative of Honeywell.
- Strategic thinker. Ability to take issues and develop an effective strategy that allows us to be successful on those opportunities and then develop plans to execute those strategies to achieve results.
- Demonstrable record of providing clients with advice that blends government relations experience, expert legislative knowledge and an understanding of, and appreciation for, a client's business objectives.
- Able to lead an effective operating system and process to drive results and to measure effectiveness of the group's outcomes and continually prioritize to ensure resources are being spent on the most important work.
- Personal presence, executive communication skills and credibility necessary to effectively interact with and influence enterprise management, as well as work with a diverse group of highly motivated professionals.
- Frequent travel (up to 30%) within supportingregion and other key areas
