What you'll be doing
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
• The ability to identify consumption and equipment issues in stores, support and distribution centres and to implement resolution through interrogation of Building Management Systems and through review of data and through detailed site visits.
• liaise and work closely with the Maintenance and Facilities teams, to understand any current operational issues, the service history of the site and any planned repair or improvement works at each location.
• Being accountable for the implementation and success of projects. You must be able to demonstrate your experience and put this into practice. You will receive the support and encouragement of the Company's senior management and directors.
• The ability to work independently, through the use of your own skills, initiative and application with minimal supervision.
• Possess excellent organisational and planning skills and demonstrate communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Have the technical ability in order to communicate confidently and eloquently with contractors, suppliers and colleagues at all levels
• Edvising on all technical, planning and programming skills and any issues associated with BMS, energy consumption and equipment efficiency.
• Ensuring the quality of work complies with statutory specifications and adheres to the Dunelm specification.
• performing other ad hoc work as, and when required.

• Someone who is familiar with Excel and analysis of raw data and graphical representations.
• Has an awareness of current environmental climate and of the changing legislation and requirements around Sustainability and environmental impact of design, construction, and maintenance of our properties. We take the long-term view, decisions taken reflect what is the right thing to do.
• Building Services knowledge would be advantageous but is not paramount as training and development will be provided and encouraged.
The BMS and Energy Efficiency Leaders role includes but is not limited to the following:
Managing & Monitoring Energy Consumption
Monitor consumption through reviewing reports from Energy Broker and from BMS Supplier
Liaise with data reporting team at sites where we don't have automatic loggers in place (source data from others).
Site Visits
Complete external perimeter checks,
• External lighting/signs check - are they running outside of schedules? Is there adequate coverage? Do the main signs fully illuminate?
• Check on landscaping - does it require cutting back? Are trees getting close to the building, which will cause leaves to block gutters?
• Fire escape routes - are they clear?
• Trolley's - are they being left scattered around car park, is there enough in the trolley shelter?
• Is there signs of gutters being blocked? (i.e., water marks on the side of the building?)
• Complete checks of controls and get an understanding as to what equipment is operating, under which parameters and under which schedules
• Raise and place orders with the successful contractors and ensure that the Purchase Order Ledger is up to date to provide an accurate record of orders raised, invoices paid and the project final project cost.
• Visit locations regularly, at least two days a week to ensure that the sites are running efficiently and for fault/issue resolution. Which may include overnight.

The BMS and Energy Efficiency Leaders role includes but is not limited to the following:
Managing & Monitoring Energy Consumption
Monitor consumption through reviewing reports from Energy Broker and from BMS Supplier
- Fully detailed weekly reports generated for all sites
- Additional Night load report generated once a week
- Identify high consuming sites and work out reasons, rectify where needed
- Go through weekly reports, to identify differences against previous years and also against sites of similar sizes.
- Interrogate Half Hourly usage data to understand when usage increases
- Use night load reports to eliminate waste at OOH times
Liaise with data reporting team at sites where we don't have automatic loggers in place (source data from others).
Site Visits

- Walk sales floor in stock mode - is there display lights/spotlights/tv's operating? Are the PIR lights working? Can we reduce the number of lights that are operating?
- Walk the sales floor in trade mode. Is everything coming on? Are there opportunities to improve LUX controlled lights?
- Identify and rectify and BMS faults (i.e., battery failures, light sensor, controller faults.
- Complete survey of site (identify other issues, i.e. maintenance, some of which could be contributing to energy consumption)
- Liaise with store team to understand what issues require help with and what improvements can be made
- Fixtures & Fittings - ensure all excess equipment is returned to Stoke / Syston / Suppliers
- Service yards - ensure all yards are kept clear, salvage is returned to Stoke DC and that no Fixtures are left outside
Energy Projects - Liaise with contractors, to plan and design energy reducing projects
- Create payback documents, to include energy savings, maintenance savings etc....
- Oversee projects, by liaising with all parties involved (contractors, store teams, etc...)
- Monitor energy consumption - to ensure predicted savings are seen
- Oversee meter removals & exchanges
- Raise orders & maintain Purchase Order ledgers, which are accurate at all times
BMS
• Liaise with BMS supplier and all relevant installation contractors to design, install & commission BMS to suit the need of the location, working within Dunelm guidelines/principles
• Complete site visits and audits to ensure commissioned correctly
• Ensure as built drawings and documentation is supplied
Solar - Monitor systems to ensure faults are cleared
- Liaise with Maintenance Department
- Monitor payback
- Liaise with energy supplier to claim back money for energy generated
- Generate consumption reports
- Ensure finance team are invoicing against FiT statements
Reporting
Generate weekly consumption reports (electricity & gas) - Data to show weekly kWh consumption v LY & FY19
- All sites to be listed
- Night consumption to be listed separately
- Generate weekly/monthly regional reports
- Data to show weekly kWh consumption v LY (with also monetary value noted)
- Engage with RC's, SC's through regional meetings/site visits
Gather data from sub-meters and landlords, share with energy broker so captured with the reporting (i.e. Radcliffe, Jersey, Bush House etc...) - Radcliffe data to be split between Store & Call Centre (sub meter for the store found on the BMS webpage for the Call Centre)
- Jersey consumption data sent through to Property from the landlord
- Bush House consumption data sent through to Property from the landlord (awaiting portal to be updated)
