Primary Purpose:
To perform preventative maintenance (PM) within the mechanical department on equipment district wide to a condition of operating excellence for full educational use of it at all times.

Primary Purpose:
To perform preventative maintenance (PM) within the mechanical department on equipment district wide to a condition of operating excellence for full educational use of it at all times.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma preferred
- Valid Texas driver's license (Meet eligibility requirements to drive a district vehicle)
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
- Ability to estimate materials
- Knowledge of construction, maintenance, and repair procedures
- Minimum of One (1) year experience in commercial or educational heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) maintenance.
Major Responsibilities & Duties:
- Perform the preventive maintenance (PM) duties necessary to construct and maintain in good repair building heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems as required.
- Be flexible in handling a variety of repairs within the Mechanical Department.
- Be able to use a variety of hand/power tools and measuring instruments.
- Make standard shop computations related to dimensions of work and amount of materials needed for each project.
- Select the proper materials and equipment necessary for the task.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair basic kitchen equipment as directed.
- Install and/or assist with the installation of HVAC systems, kitchen equipment, and other mechanical related duties as required.
- Inspect interior/exterior building plumbing systems including domestic and wastewater systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair irrigation system components as required.
- Operate equipment and tools in a safe manner, following all safety procedures to create a safe work environment.
- Correct unsafe conditions in the area and report any conditions that are not correctable to your immediate supervisor or the Executive Director of Facilities.
- Respond to emergency calls after hours, weekends, or holidays as required.
- Perform all other duties and/or tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor or the Executive Director of Facilities.
