Grade: CSEA SG-12
Hours: Wednesday - Sunday 11pm-7am (pass days Mon / Tues)
Duration: Contingent Permanent
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. This position may be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at the time of appointment. Candidates may be expected to be qualified to use negative pressure respirators. Valid New York State driver's license required.
OPERATING NEEDS:
Ability to perform journey-level work in one trade, and skilled and semiskilled level work in a combination of other trades in the diagnosis and repair of HVAC, Mechanical and Electrical Systems; ability to perform physical tasks including lifting 50 pounds, working from ladders, scaffolds and lifts, work at heights 25'+ and in confined spaces; plan and execute assignments with considerable independence; work overtime as required for emergencies and campus events; ability to work with a computerized maintenance management system; ability to wear a negative pressure respirator, pass a fit test and use other personal protective equipment related to the job duties; ability to determine repairs and replacement of equipment, plan work, organize apprentices and helpers with materials and equipment for projects and maintain stocked inventory of materials required; Valid New York State Driver's license required.
