Job Purpose
The Electrical Commissioning Lead provides guidance and oversight for Electrical Commissioning activities, supporting the project’s main contractor and sub-vendors. This role requires effective collaboration with the Facilities Team, EPC contractor engineers, and Operations personnel. The role spans support across multiple EPC workshops, shop inspections, and factory testing as required. It includes the oversight and delivery of the Comp 3 Scope in Doha, covering:

Key Job Accountabilities
-
EPC Contractor Coordination
-
Coordinate EPC contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure timely and quality delivery of Electrical commissioning in line with project schedules and budgets.

Support for EPC Tendering
-
Assist in developing EPC Invitation to Tender (ITT) packages for the electrical discipline in future EPC projects, ensuring alignment with schedules and budgets.

EPC PMT Support

Review documents and attend workshops/meetings to support EPC Project Management Teams (PMTs), ensuring timely delivery of electrical deliverables.

Technical Scope Analysis
-
Analyze technical attachments and purchase order scope descriptions for electrical packages to ensure compliance with contractual scope and technical specifications.

Stakeholder Liaison

Maintain close communication with NFPS Electrical Leads, QE OPCO, Head of Facilities, and other stakeholders to align engineering objectives and requirements.

Incorporate lessons learned from past projects and communicate key learnings for continuous improvement in current and future electrical engineering and commissioning practices.

Contractor Capability Assessment

Assess the capabilities of contractors and ensure appropriate technical support is available to close any engineering or system gaps.

Schedule Stewardship
-
Manage and track critical electrical system milestones (e.g., LLI procurement, ROS dates), and develop recovery plans to mitigate any schedule delays.

Contract Document Verification

Ensure that EPC contractors provide all required electrical system documentation as stipulated in contracts.

Scope Control & Reporting

Oversee the control of the electrical system scope, ensuring accurate and timely progress measurement and reporting.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
Knowledge and/or Experience
-
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in large-scale oil & gas project commissioning.

At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or oversight capacity, including vendor/service provider supervision.
Technical and Business Skills

Familiarity with major oil & gas company operations, EPC contractors, and service providers.
