Job Purpose
The Planning Specialist is responsible for managing the scheduling and progress measurement aspects of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts. This includes the development, maintenance, monitoring, control, and integration of project schedules, ensuring compliance with standardized processes and delivery to the highest quality standards.

Project Schedule Development

Develops and maintains comprehensive project schedules aligned with the approved design and execution scope.

Contractor Procedure Review

Reviews EPC Contractor project control procedures to ensure alignment with project and company requirements.

Progress Accuracy Verification
-
Reviews and validates contractor progress reports to ensure accurate progress measurement.

Schedule Logic and Interface Monitoring
-
Evaluates and monitors EPC Contractor schedules for logic, detail, and critical interfaces.

Subcontractor Schedule Integration
-
Ensures timely integration of subcontractor schedules into the master EPC schedule.

Vendor and Supplier Coordination
-
Integrates schedules of critical equipment and bulk materials from vendors/suppliers into overall project timelines.

Contractor Performance Monitoring
-
Tracks and appraises EPC Contractor performance against control plans and project milestones.

Schedule Impact Analysis

Assesses the impact of proposed project changes on the overall schedule and incorporates approved changes accordingly.

Issue Resolution and Corrective Action

Identifies potential scheduling issues, recommends corrective actions, and ensures implementation.

Progress Review and Reporting

Conducts regular progress review meetings with contractors and reports project status updates to management.

Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Law, Engineering, Accounting, Business Management/Administration, or other commercial disciplines.
Knowledge and/or Experience
-
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in project scheduling and controls, particularly in EPC oil and gas facilities or operating companies.

In-depth knowledge of project controls principles, methodologies, and best practices.

Minimum 5 years of site/field scheduling experience.

Proven experience developing work methods in alignment with company policies, executive directives, and professional engineering standards.
