The Systems Optimizer Analyst (Natural Gas Scheduler) function is to work with the optimizer / natural gas scheduling team to improve processes, review contracts, develop, oversee and coordinate the 'Day Ahead Planning' (DAP) and management of exceptions process for regional operational super systems in a way that maximizes overall value/profitability. Interface with operations teams, commercial teams (gas scheduling), marketing, logistics, finance, risk management, reliability and maintenance teams to understand and internalize system constraints in these processes and evaluate risk assessments. The Systems Optimizer Analyst will work with optimizer team to monitor pricing and evaluate positions throughout the month.

Candidates with a strong accounting background who are eager to transition into natural gas scheduling are encouraged to apply, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities May Include:
  • Understanding contracts and how they are written
  • Managing pipeline imbalances, monitor and resolve pipeline volume discrepancies
  • Scheduling and confirming nominations on third party pipelines
  • Collaborating with marketing, commercial, operations, and Integrated Collaboration Center (ICC) team (coordinators, gas control, operators) to reroute gas to facilities to maximize daily throughput of the asset during upset conditions
  • Tracking and interpreting pipeline curtailments and operational issues using pipeline electronic bulletin boards (EBBs)
  • Participating in the First of Month (FOM) setup process for an asset based on flowing volumes, maintenance, curtailments, facility limitations/outages, pipeline restrictions/maintenance, and new gas volumes put on the system by producers
  • Managing close out process for each month with accounting to ensure accuracy of scheduling process
  • Monitoring weekly forecast accuracy and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for impact to daily nomination process
  • Communicating with external counterparties like Producers and Pipeline Companies to relay issues of impact and provide timely updates to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc.
  • Performing other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Required Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • 3 or more years of experience in the Energy/Midstream, Petrochemicals, or International Organization for Standardization (ISO) regulated industry
  • Able to work extended hours when needed including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Allegro
  • Proficient in Aligne
  • Ability to interpret cause and effect

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $97,200 - $127,100 depending on a candidate's relevant work experience and education.
