ENGIE Supply & Energy Management (SEM) is responsible for managing the portfolio of gas, electricity, congestion revenues rights and environmental products for ENGIE, across geographies. More recently, SEM has extended its scope to also manage all the market risks (energy, congestion, RECs, ancillaries) generated by the Renewable and Battery Storage Assets owned by ENGIE North America, which includes wind farms, solar farms, and storage units. The Power Portfolio Management team is precisely the group in charge of these activities.
The Asset Backed Trading group is responsible for the pricing and managing the risks associated with the power generation and retail business across the United States. We are looking for a Senior Quantitative Analyst to join the team and build the valuation and risk management systems that are required to manage exotic parameters of various power production and retail risk management systems.
As a Power Market Quantitative Senior Analyst in Houston, TX and you will report to the Head of Asset Backed Trading.
You will be responsible for valuing various energy assets, including batteries, wind, solar. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in quantitative methods, and a robust understanding of power market. In this role you will:
• Participate in enhancing the existing pricing and managing framework.
• Deliver ad hoc tactical solutions as well as develop new pricing models in the official pricing library
• Play a key role for developing new risk management products linked to the operational characteristics of the generation and retail portfolios
• Promote best coding practices that comply with general rules and standards.
• Document and share knowledge across SEM on the different models used within SEM.
What You'll Bring
• A minimum of Bachelor's Degree in which you completed courses in Science, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent combined education and work experience
• Familiarity with Northeast markets including PJM, NYISO and ISONE
• A minimum of five (5) years of general business experience
• A minimum of three (3) years' experience developing pricing and risk systems for financial derivatives
• Strong coding experience (preferable C#, R and/or python), object oriented programming skills
• Experience with financial modeling using stochastic pricing models, Greeks, VaR, etc.
• Familiarity with relational database platforms (Oracle, MS SQL, Postgres)
• Experience in collaborative software development environment (version tracking with Git, code reviews)
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, tested and shippable production code
• Ability to cooperate with other engineers, and focus on team goals
Additional Details
This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; working minimum 3 days in the office
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies;
Compensation
Salary Range: $86,100 - $131,020 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
