As an Engineering Manager here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in leading and managing the engineering function within the company. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction, technical leadership, and operational oversight to the engineering teams. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive innovation, ensure product quality, and achieve business objectives.

You will report directly to our Director of Engineering and you'll work out of our Huntsville, AL location.

In this role, you will impact the company's ability to drive innovation, deliver high-quality products, and achieve business objectives. Your strategic leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence will contribute to the company's success, reputation, and growth in the industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering functions team, primarily Electrical Engineering
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive innovation and achieve business objectives
  • Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and optimize engineering resources, budgets, and timeline
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team
  • Site leadership & support of HSEF tasks as assigned

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • 3+ years managing/supervising an engineering or technical execution team
  • Demonstrated Leadership Experience including the ability to drive teams to common goals, empower those teams, and manage/resolve complex technical issues
  • Ability to create, support, and enhance specific action plans
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced by events
  • Ability to convey subtle or complex messages succinctly and clearly, tailored for the topic and audience
  • Experience in design, fabrication, testing & validation of complex thermal management systems
  • Project engineering experience estimating, planning, scheduling, and implementing budget control for engineering work

    WE VALUE
  • Project Engineering or Project Management Background
  • Master of Engineering or Business Administration preferred
  • Electrical Engineering background preferred
  • Demonstrated communication, relationship, and team-building skills
  • Action Oriented: Works hard, full of energy; not fearful of acting with the best data available even if it is incomplete; seize opportunities when they arise
  • Handles Ambiguity: Can effectively cope with change; decide and act without having the total picture; achieve success despite ambiguity; comfortably handle risk and uncertainty
  • Business Acumen: Knowledge of current and emerging practices, methods, and information relating to discipline and application within the industry
  • Ability to rapidly assess situations and decide on the best corrective action response.
  • Experience with root cause and corrective action process
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools for peer reviews, team meetings, program design reviews, and phase gate activities.
  • Create, support and enhance specific action plans
  • Work with functional leaders to prioritize resources & implement project objectives
  • Promote customer relationships
