Activities

  • Coordinate activities related to development of LTP and budget. Work with sites to agree on plant constraints and work with Strategy/RSTO-Base Chem to define market/logistics constraints to be used in plan.
  • Generate LTP/Budget mass balances for the LBU using the Linear Program (LP). Iterate with LBUs as necessary to achieve desired result.
  • Perform short/medium/long term studies as directed by RSTO-Base Chem, LBU, or Business Development using the LP or other economic tools and support (for project lead by BD) or prepares (for project lead by RSTO) the file for the CDRPA final validation.
  • Validate for each project presentation at CDRPA level or above that the RSTO market vision and pricing are considered.
  • Carry out economic studies for new crude oil supplies in coordination with the Program Engineer.
  • Perform economic post audits of past investments or business decisions.
  • Provide backup support for BTP and PAR program engineers.
    • Crude quality monitoring/assay updates.
    • Adjust Crude Supply as needed for operational or supply deviations from plan
    • Steward financial performance of TEPRI's share in BTP JV. Perform Front Office duties for transfer streams for JVs(BTP, Baystar)
  • Perform monthly optimization backcasts.
  • Update economic models (yields, operating costs, market quotations, functionality) in conjunction with RSTO optimizer, program engineers, and LBU technical groups.
  • Optimization of natural gas/electricity supply for multiple sites (PAR, LaPorte, Carville, Baystar)

Candidate Profile

Education/Experience:
  • Engineering degree, preferable Chemical engineering.
  • 8-10 years industrial experience specially in the refining/petrochemical world. Ideally valorization background.

Skills:
  • Good understanding of refining and base chemicals processes, streams, and economics.
  • A strong expertise in Excel spreadsheet is needed. LP runs competencies will be advantage.
  • Excellent data analytic skill- analysis, trending, interpreting.
  • Ability to respond swiftly to immediate needs while anticipating future challenges and opportunities.
  • Strong collaborative & supportive approach when working with colleagues.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and take ownership of improvement opportunities while ensure their successful completion.
