Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and data-driven engineering manager to join our fast-growing team. In this position, you will play a key role in the overall success of our organization by planning, managing, and developing engineering teams. You will be responsible for overseeing various international automation projects, processes, budgets, and timelines, making any necessary adjustments to ensure successful completion.
Mission: Develop a project engineering team to outperform customer project activities such as Task On-Time Delivery, Technical Maturity, and On-Budget Expenses, while maintaining sustainable customer billability. Execute talent development activities as well as performance assessments to identify top performers and enable them with individual development plans.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish professional relationships and communications with customers, Program Directors, Operational Leaders, Project Managers, project engineering discipline leaders, concept & estimation, ISC, and Install team leaders.
• Provide day-to-day consultation, leadership, and direction to the systems engineering group comprising professional engineering staff. Assign Engineering Supervisors and engineers to projects and manage day-to-day resource conflicts.
• Drive a culture of change identification, change management, technical risk identification & mitigation, value engineering ideas, techniques & solutions within and across the system & project engineering organization.
• Drive efficiencies in the project execution methodology to bring down cost and/or increase the value delivered to the customer. Develop and enhance work processes and procedures as required.
• Actively review, monitor, and control the project's health & readiness compliance from the engineering perspective for the phase gate reviews. Ensure 100% compliance to phase gate reviews and all deliverables are submitted to the customer on time.
• Ensure that required prerequisites (e.g., design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, budget, low-cost engineering content) are in place prior to commencing the work.
• Drive billability of the engineering group, project cost forecast accuracy, monitor engineering hours & financials to ensure projects are completed within agreed engineering cost budget.
• Ensure common methods, procedures, techniques, tools, and products as agreed by the knowledge communities/Leaders are being effectively applied and provide feedback for future improvement.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with numerous personnel in management and engineering.
• Escalate customer feedback, internal/external risks, and schedule changes within the organization and work closely with Project Managers/Program Managers for possible mitigation.
• Ensure customer feedback is collected on all the IGS projects at various customer touch points (KOM, design, Training, SAT, etc.) during project engineering execution.
Ensure project teams work in compliance with quality/safety procedures. Responsible for adherence to HSE Policy and Guidelines
Qualifications:
• 8+ years of industrial project engineering experience managing engineering teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Control Automation, Electrical, Electronics, or similar.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or MBA (desired).
• Strong project management and interpersonal skills, able to develop engineering teams to deliver challenging project milestones while ensuring financial team sustainability and talent development.
