Our client is seeking a Land Manager to work within their facilities located in Houston, TX, for an initial 1-year assignment.
The Land Manager is responsible for overseeing the acquisition, negotiation, and management of land rights necessary for pipeline construction, operation, and maintenance. This role ensures compliance with all legal, regulatory, and environmental requirements while maintaining positive relationships with landowners, government agencies, and stakeholders.

The Land Manager is responsible for overseeing the acquisition, negotiation, and management of land rights necessary for pipeline construction, operation, and maintenance. This role ensures compliance with all legal, regulatory, and environmental requirements while maintaining positive relationships with landowners, government agencies, and stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Land Acquisition & Negotiation: Secure land rights, easements, and agreements for pipeline projects through effective negotiation with landowners, municipalities, and regulatory bodies.
- Title Research & Due Diligence: Conduct thorough title research and analysis to verify ownership, resolve land-related issues, and ensure clear legal rights for project development.
- Regulatory & Environmental Compliance: Ensure adherence to all applicable land use laws, environmental regulations, and industry standards governing pipeline operations.
- Contract & Document Management: Prepare, review, and maintain accurate records of contracts, leases, easements, and other legal agreements to ensure transparency and compliance.
- Stakeholder Relations: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with landowners, government agencies, and industry partners to facilitate project success.
- Risk Management & Problem-Solving: Identify potential legal, environmental, or operational risks associated with land acquisition and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Strong Negotiation & Communication: Ability to effectively negotiate and communicate with landowners, attorneys, and regulatory agencies.
- Legal & Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of land and mineral rights, property law, environmental regulations, and pipeline industry standards.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities: Capable of conducting complex title research and resolving land-related legal and logistical challenges.
- Industry Expertise: Experience in the oil and gas or pipeline industry, with a solid understanding of land acquisition and development processes.
- Attention to Detail & Organization: Ability to manage multiple land agreements, contracts, and regulatory documents with accuracy and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Land Management, Business, Law, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience in land acquisition, right-of-way management, or related areas within the pipeline, oil & gas, or energy sector.
- Knowledge of GIS mapping and land records systems is a plus.
