Job Description Summary

Receive, check, tally, store, accumulate, procure, disburse, expedite, move, deliver and transport a variety of lab and shop supplies /tools/maintenance/research/production materials.

Position Hours: This role follows a 9/80 schedule; Monday - Thursday hours are 7-4pm, every other Friday is an 8 hour shift, and off the next Friday. Overtime is uncapped.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work from written and/or verbal instructions from supervision, computer terminals, production schedules, paperwork, accepted shop practices, etc.
  • Receive, check for damage, tally, store and disburse a variety of materials maintaining appropriate records. Inventory materials, notify supervision of shortages and reorder as required. Perform cycle counts/audits and physical inventory per schedule.
  • Accumulate materials, load, move, transport and unload using cranes, lifting devices, automotive and industrial vehicles, etc.
  • Handle materials safely and properly, maintaining proper balance, hitches, protection of finished surfaces, etc.
  • Operate forklift, pallet jack, tank carts, etc. (requires forklift training & certification) Load / unload trucks as needed in a timely manner.
  • Perform turnovers, spotting and positioning of materials as required.
  • Follow parts, identify materials, expedite and maintain appropriate records as to status, quantities and location.
  • May work alone or coordinating efforts with others
  • Perform above operations to close requirements of safety and accuracy on a large variety of materials. Keep facilities, materials and work area orderly, exercising care in their use, maintaining general good housekeeping practices and conforming to all safety and quality requirements.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously, as well as frequent bending, stooping, and crouching Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalency
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a warehouse or material handler experience.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word).
  • Ability and willingness to work off shifts and weekends if needed.
  • Ability, with or without accommodation, to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds.
  • Must pass physical, background and drug screens.
  • Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), for example: safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes.
  • Ability and willingness to take a pre-employment test, and submit to technical interview.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of common PC tools, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
  • Reading comprehension; understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents Able to follow written instructions and take verbal instructions.
  • Able to work with computerized shop floor tools to include, but not limited to: vouchering systems, online quality programs, and payroll management tools.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team with minimal supervision Has excellent attention to detail and concentration.
  • Ability to act autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation.
  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
  • Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively.

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $31.25- $34.47 per hour. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education and specific work location.
