Overview

This position is located at the Choke Canyon Reservoir in Three Rivers, Texas.

Operate and maintain Choke Canyon Dam and attached facilities, heavy maintenance and mowing, equipment operation. Repairing and maintenance of trucks, tractors, mowers, pumps, saws, string trimmers, boats and facilities.

Responsibilities
• Performs maintenance and repairs to Choke Canyon equipment and vehicles.
• Must have a large mechanical ability.
• Able to operate any city equipment proficiently.
• Assists in identifying maintenance requirements.
• Develops preventative maintenance strategies.
• Plans and performs root cause analysis of equipment failures, makes recommendations on findings.
• Directly works with coworkers and subordinates to complete duties.
• Operates mowing and construction equipment to maintain facilities and grounds
• Operates work boat.
• Inspects dam, buoys, and makes water side repairs.
• Completes morning reports and other required documentation.
• Computer operation documenting work.
• Must have above average mathematical and communications skills.
• Ability to figure evaporation, steam flows, acre fee of lake, conversions from cubic feet per second to acre feet per week.
• Piezometer reading calculations, with conversion from meters to feet elevation and more.
• Take information from SOP and perform their job and report both by CMMS.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
• Non-Exempt - Full-Time
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma/GED
• One (1) year of experience

Licenses and Certifications

Required
• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Required within one (1) month of hire
• Confined Space Training

Required within six (6) months of hire
• Bost Safety Training

Required within one (1) year of hire
• Raw Water Supply - Choke Canyon Reservoir & Wesley Seal Dam - TCEQ Dam Safety Certification

Basis of Rating

A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
