Job Description
You can make your mark as Offshore WROV (Work Class Remotely Operated Vehicle) Supervisor at Boskalis Marine Services by being in charge of a challenging and complex piece of robotic equipment.
You will be responsible to work closely together with an WROV team and liaise with Marine crew and Project teams on board our vessels. Responsibilities also include safe & successful execution of WROV operations, reporting & maintenance and repair of our WROVs which are used in fields ranging from subsea oil and gas development projects, IRM (Inspection, Repair and Maintenance), offshore wind projects, construction to UXO surveys, cable lay / pipe lay, trenching, salvage and scientific research.
Some of the projects our teams have worked on, are the Offshore Wind Installation Kincardine, the EDP project in El Salvador and UXO (unexploded ordnance discovery and recovery/removal) projects.

Your responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate WROV operations ensuring all requirements / tasks are executed according to the requirements.
- Supervises and assists with the maintenance, repairs & troubleshooting of the WROV systems, including evaluation of requirements and advising onshore WROV department of any technical matters/needs.
- Takes full responsibility for Health, Safety & Welfare of offshore team with strict compliance to Boskalis safety Policies & Procedures and any additional requirements.
- Supervises and assists with the administration of all WROV documentation which includes (not limited to) the Daily Toolbox talks, DPRs, Dive logs, Dive Permits, system maintenance, system lifting gear inspections & re-certifications, etc.
- Allocates tasks and supervises the WROV pilot/techs in conjunction with their experience/training & monitors the team performance on a regular basis for feedback on training recommendations & improvements.
- Act as liaison with all the vessel's parties and onshore WROV department.
- Ensure that WROV system equipment, tooling, and any ancillary devices are in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and safety requirements.
- Assist in all safety inspections & WROV Systems Audits to ensure that the workplace is maintained in a safe and tidy condition (housekeeping).
- Interpretation of weather conditions and forecasts and translating these into the operational execution plan.
- Being part of the offshore project team, you know how to communicate efficiently on different levels.
Your qualities and experience
- Minimum 5 years offshore experience with various classes and types of WROV systems out of which minimum 3 years as a Senior Pilot Tech/Submersible Engineer over a varied spectrum of construction support & IRM projects from Fixed Installations & DP Vessels;
- Possesses completion of competency certificates as per IMCA C011 & IMCA C05;
- Valid BOSIET, Offshore Medical and High Voltage Certificates or ability to obtain these;
- Experience in working with electronics, hydraulics and/or mechanics;
- Experience with Schilling HD WROV or Perry XLX WROV is preferred;
- Education (bachelor's) degree in mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering;
- A team player mentality;
- Willingness to travel globally (on a flexible rotational base, work on location for some weeks, followed by a similar amount of weeks' leave, mostly);
- Good communication skills and a good command of written and spoken English.

- Full/part-time job: The position of WROV Supervisor is a full-time job, with a flexible offshore rotation, based on a 132 guaranteed days per year contract.
