Function description
We're looking for a Safety Officer who ensures that safety isn't just a policy-it's a daily practice In this role, you'll be responsible for implementing and maintaining all safety, health, and environmental standards on-site, in line with our Safety Management Program and contract requirements. You'll work closely with the Project Management Team to promote an Incident & Injury Free culture, conduct daily site inspections, and guide teams in safe work methods. You'll participate in project meetings to identify risks early, support supervisors with toolbox talks, and prepare weekly safety reports. New hires will rely on you for safety orientations and walk-throughs, and you'll help crews prepare Job Safety Analyses before each shift. This position is key to ensuring compliance and protecting everyone on-site. You'll also collaborate with our Division Safety Manager to resolve any safety or environmental issues. Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need to bring a solid foundation in safety practices, hands-on experience in the field, and the flexibility to work in dynamic environments.
At a minimum, you should have:
- High school diploma required; bachelor's in safety or construction preferred
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
- OSHA 30 certification required; knowledge of OSHA and EM385-1-1/USACE preferred
- Strong communication skills and computer proficiency
- Valid driver's license (MVR check during onboarding)
- Eligible for TWIC and able to interpret safety regulations
- Willing to travel 100% on a 17-days-on / 11-days-off rotation schedule
