The Contract Lead will report to the General Counsel BAEurope and will be located in our offices in Prague.
This team supports a global function that has the primary responsibility of drafting and negotiating contracts with our customers. You facilitate the process of contract drafting, execution and maintenance with performing various tasks utilizing our contracting tools and a thorough understanding of the contracting business process flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review customer contract terms and conditions and make necessary amendments to align them with our terms and conditions policy and market practice.
- Participate as a key member of the negotiating team in contract discussions with customers and suppliers.
- Negotiate, review & draft a broad range of commercial agreements across Europe (framework-, multi side -, strategic verticals- and products partner agreements).
- Coordinate with other Honeywell functions to obtain input relative to their areas of expertise, consolidate and incorporate issues of concern into risk containment recommendations.
- Provide experienced advice and guidance to global and regional leadership/ various functions.
- Act as Contracts Leader for BA Eastern Europe and work closely with the regional and local leadership as well as outside counsels in Romania, Poland and Hungary.
- Support Project Management and execution in any legal post-contract disputes.
- Support and function as a focal point for external law firms to manage litigations.
- Provide timely monthly reports of contract metrics and complex legal issues.
- Liaise with other contract managers and General Counsels throughout the Honeywell group
Knowledge & Qualification:
- Solid knowledge of construction law civil, trade andcontracting laws.
- Knowledge of Eastern Europe would be a plus.
- Knowledge in public procurement law is a plus.
- Expertise and solid experience in contract negotiationprinciples and techniques.
- Understanding of financial concepts and impact of contractterms on those concepts.
- Solid knowledge of laws and regulations governing thecontracts (construction and products law background).
- Ability to multi-task on a large number of complex contractissues.
- Ability to find, argue and gain acceptance of new approachesand objectives.
- Ability to draft, deploy, train and apply policies andprocedures in the field.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization and support thebusiness from a functional leadership perspective.
Education & Experience:
- Education: Eastern European Legal degree.
- Any additional legal or commercial education is a bonus.
- Experience: 8+ years in commercial business or industry,preferably large companies in construction or technology industries.
- Experience with high quality, high-cost products, services,and/or complex projects is a bonus.
- Experience in contractual dispute management.
- Sound experience in analyzing contract terms &conditions and intelligent assessment of risks.
- Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Function as a team player, friendly, polite andself-motivated, adaptable and goal-oriented, willing to be a business enabler.
