Job Description

Be trusted to make great things happen.

You might know us for the great work we do across our wide variety of projects. We're proud to say it's thanks to our people's diversity of thought, expertise and knowledge. And when you join us, you'll be a part of this genuinely collaborative environment, where everyone's voice is valued and treated equally.
We're passionate about what we do, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. Simply put, this a great place to be. So, when it comes to your life outside of work, ask us about our flexible and hybrid working policies designed to help you get the most out of life.

Join us as a Project Manager on one of our prestigious JVs called Connect Plus Services, and you'll be supporting an exciting variety of civil and structural design projects. You'll collaborate across new build, renewal, maintenance, and assessment works, from our largest, most high-profile to our more progressive and specialised.

We offer flexible working where you will typically be working from your base CPS office, Leatherhead, Dartford or South Mimms up to three days per week and two days from home.

Your purpose:
  • As a Project Manager within our M25 team, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of one of the UK's most critical highways. You'll lead a range of renewal and improvement projects across iconic infrastructure, including the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge and Dartford Tunnels - helping to keep millions of journeys safe and efficient.
  • From day one, you'll take ownership of projects through their full lifecycle - from early engagement and development through to construction, close-out, and reporting. You'll collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders including engineers, planners, commercial teams, National Highways, and Connect Plus.
  • You'll bring people together - ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. Whether it's managing the programme with our planning team, chairing project gateway meetings, or contributing to sustainability goals, your work will make a meaningful and visible difference.
  • This is a role where every day brings variety, where your voice is valued, and where you can see the tangible impact of your leadership. You'll also be part of a supportive community that values collaboration, safety, and continuous learning - and encourages everyone to bring their whole self to work.

What you can bring:

We're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering meaningful infrastructure projects and brings a proactive, solution-focused mindset to their work. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy driving outcomes that make a real difference - we'd love to hear from you.

To succeed in this role, you'll ideally bring:
  • Project Management expertise, ideally supported by a recognised qualification such as PRINCE2 or APMP.
  • A degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) and/or working towards membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Broad understanding of Highways or Structural Engineering, including key design considerations.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations, health & safety, and environmental legislation in a highways context.
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and other standard contract forms.

Why work for AtkinsRéalis?

Our Transportation teams are reinventing transport for a challenging yet exciting future. We're creating new ideas and smart solutions for cities, people and the environment. You'll be working alongside some of the top people in our industry, solving challenges that bring together traditional engineering and new technologies. As part of our organisation, you'll be in a privileged position, delivering what's right for governments and communities. You'll be helping us to improve our leading environmental performance while enabling others to do the same.

Security clearance:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer. If applying to this role please do not make reference to (in conversation) or include in your application or CV, details of any current or previously held security clearance.

We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community - a place where we can all be ourselves, thrive and develop. To help embed inclusion for all, from day one, we offer a range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements and employee networks to support staff from different backgrounds.
