HVAC Prototype Build Technician - Product Development

Advanced Cooling Technologies, Inc. (ACT) is a developer and manufacturer of advanced cooling solutions for the aerospace, military, commercial, and government markets. Our products are utilized in leading-edge technologies where current solutions are insufficient or non-existent. Typical cooling solutions include heat pipes, pumped liquid cooling, and thermal storage devices. We specialize in technology development and custom thermal product design and manufacturing. We work to solve some of the most challenging thermal problems that system engineers are facing in this era of rapid innovation and product development.
Due to the rapid growth of business activities, we have an immediate opening for a full-time Prototype Build Technician to provide design support, machining, system assembly, and testing support for our engineering projects. ACT offers a competitive salary and 4-day work week, with the potential for overtime on Fridays; the typical schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Benefits include low-cost health, dental, and vision plans, a 401k with company match, company paid life and disability, 8 paid holidays, a generous paid-time-off plan, and profit-sharing bonus plan.
Position Summary: We have an immediate opening in our York facility for a Product Development Prototype Technician for the planning, assembly, and troubleshooting of first-time builds and low volume production orders. The Prototype Build Technician collaborates with Engineering personnel to successfully build new products that satisfy customer requirements while determining the best assembly sequence to support future production. This position involves standing for extended periods, frequent lifting, and handling of materials as needed to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certificate from a technical school or a minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Adhere to safety standards and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ability to read calipers / tape measure.
- Ability to safely use mechanical tools including saws, drill press, and power tools.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and other technical documentation
- Must be dedicated to performing quality work and strongly detail-oriented
- Ability to stay flexible and easily redirect efforts in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on fabrication and troubleshooting of assembly processes and test stands
- Ability to contribute to problem-solving for product and prototype manufacturing
Highly Desirable
- Industrial HVAC equipment assembly, testing, and troubleshooting experience
- Basic knowledge of refrigeration concepts preferred
- EPA Section 608 Certificate (Level 1 & 2, minimum)
- Brazing Certification in accordance with AWS C3.4 and AWS B2.2 or ASME Section IX is a plus
- Welding experience
- CAD / Solidworks Experience
- Microsoft Excel Experience
