Your role and responsibilities

As IS Service Manager, you are accountable for all measures that support the applications falling within the scope of Motion IS PLM Domain. Major focus would be on Application Management of PLM, CAD and integrated Platforms with functional management of Support Teams to deliver IS application Services meeting the demand generated by the Domain at agreed SLAs with Business. The IS Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the applications within the Motion IS PLM Domain. This role focuses on managing PLM, CAD, and integrated platforms, ensuring the effective delivery of IS application services that meet the domain's demands and agreed-upon SLAs. With this role, the main responsibilities are the following: Build, deliver, and maintain IS solutions/application services within the assigned domain portfolio. Review SLAs and service metrics to identify optimization opportunities. Execute IS solution/service delivery, including project management, quality assurance, internal communication, user support, testing, and training management. Ensure the effective management and optimization of cloud infrastructure. Implement and maintain cloud solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and compliance standards. Monitor cloud performance and security, addressing any issues promptly. Ensure proactive consultation and regular auditing of applications and infrastructures, adhering to ABB and product-specific compliance. Ensuring applications and platforms are adhering Info security policies/guidelines. Manage application deployments, hosting, infrastructure, testing, adoption, service desk, and incident management. Lead teams to ensure SLAs and OLAs are in place and processes meet ITIL standards and accountable to coordinate with other ABB functions to maintain services. Control service assets and configuration items, ensuring accurate and reliable information is available. Continuously develop service delivery processes and quality, optimize licenses and infrastructure costs. Support the installation / management / maintenance / optimization of internal and cross-functional processes related to IS Service Build or IS Service Delivery. Participate and drive Change Review Boards. Ensure implementation of changes, new functions while protecting existing services. Support work in the domain is aligned to given goals and compliant with ABB IS Enterprise Architecture and any other applicable ABB Group Directives and ABB Group Guidelines, especially ABB IS Guidelines and Directive, which deal with IS service delivery. As defined, accountable for the budget planning across assigned Application Portfolio within the Domain including the effective delivery of budgeted activities within agreed schedules and costs. Work with Application Owners and project Managers ensuring Build and Run costs are budgeted for the services to be delivered. Participate in supplier or product selection RFPs and contract discussions - support New Initiatives Support Domain Lead, Service Owners and other Service managers in coordinating and utilizing the Applications services in the definition of costs and schedules. Ensure satisfaction with IS application services by understanding service levels and aligning expectations with stakeholders. Take actions to close any gaps and influence stakeholder perceptions of IS services. Support Application Owners, Service Owners. Other Service and Application Managers in roadmap planning for various business process areas to meet the expectation of Business stakeholders. Implement relevant IS processes for application management and supporting IS functions in Application Build/Run. Ensure processes match the maturity and business-agreed SLAs of each application, delegating responsibilities to resources or service providers as needed. Staff and organize Application Management teams in line with stakeholder expectations and agreed service levels, including organization and skill development. Guide, motivate, and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies. Act as IS Service Manager for selected process areas if required, handling roadmap planning, project preparation, and delivery. Ensure application onboarding to the domain, including capability, capacity, and re-source planning.

Qualifications for the role

  • Extensive 10 years of relevant experience working on PLM/CAD or other Engineering Applications
  • Excellent IS developing and operations skills, deep understanding of the overall context of business processes & technologies
  • Prior experience in leading IS people (Direct or In-Direct)
  • Experience of identifying and resolving issues between team members or other teams
  • Capacity to translate business requirements into technical IS capabilities and solutions
  • Relevant experience in project planning and execution as well as economic aspects of system management and life cycle
  • Sound knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Very good knowledge of IS Infrastructure (Cloud Hosting)
  • Strong in information management, computer systems, business engineering or similar field
  • Fluent spoken and written English
