PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow supervisor instructions to safely move wind tower sections, set up, and operate media blasting equipment in alignment with the daily production schedule.
- Perform precision media blasting of tower sections to meet detailed customer specifications before submitting components for quality inspection.
- Work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment to meet production targets; maintain and take ownership of provided tools and equipment.
- Execute tasks with accuracy and urgency to ensure timely delivery of defect-free products.
- Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all safety policies and procedures.
- Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by embracing Lean Manufacturing principles and supporting change initiatives.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean & organized work area; utilize safe work habits.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in heavy manufacturing, blasting, or industrial surface preparation is preferred.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, blueprints, or technical drawings is a plus.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with standard and metric measurements are helpful.
- Must be able to work safely, follow procedures, and wear required PPE for extended periods.
- Forklift or crane certifications are a bonus but not mandatory.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
- Ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Able to work well in a team environment as well as self-directed when working independently.
- Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
- Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required.
- Be able to stand for long periods while using a high-pressure blast hose.
- Be able to wear a fresh air supplied blast helmet for up to 10-12 hours a day.
